Job summary

Nestlé Health Science is hiring a Warehouse Operator II in Franklin Park, IL. The role supports warehouse operations by safely operating forklifts and handling materials, ensuring accurate shipping and receiving, and maintaining organized storage. 1st shift, 5:00am–5:30pm.

Prior warehouse experience is preferred and a forklift certification is required. The position offers competitive hourly pay with benefits and opportunities for growth within a global company.

Qualifications

• 1+ years’ experience in Manufacturing and/or Warehousing.
• Ability to obtain valid forklift operator certification.
• Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide).
• Ability to follow safety procedures including Nestlé Life Saving Rules.
• Ability to speak/read/write in English.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand, bend, etc.
• Ability to use basic digital devices (computers, iPad).
• Overtime may be required based on business needs.
• Follow SOPs, GMPs and all company policies.
• Work environment may include powders, chemicals, and allergens.

The Warehouse Operator II is responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to support warehouse operations, in addition to being able to fulfill duties of Warehouse I as needed. This position plays a crucial role in the movement of materials, ensuring accurate shipping and receiving, and maintaining a well-organized work environment. The Warehouse II Operator reports to the Warehouse Supervisor and receives daily direction and guidance.

Shift: 1st shift, 5:00am-5:30pm

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely to move materials within the warehouse, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to designated areas.
• Load and unload trucks, verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against relevant documentation, such as bills of lading, packing lists, and purchase orders.
• Conduct regular inspections of forklifts and other equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance or safety issues to the Warehouse Supervisor.
• Maintain accurate inventory records by performing cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, and updating inventory management systems.
• Organize and maintain warehouse storage areas, ensuring materials are properly labeled, stored, and easily accessible.
• Collaborate with warehouse team members to coordinate daily activities, prioritize tasks, and ensure efficient workflow.
• Provide updates, report issues, and contribute to a positive work environment.
• Pick, pack, and stage materials accurately for shipment, following established procedures and safety guidelines.
• Perform general housekeeping tasks and other duties as assigned.

Experience And Education Requirements

• 1(+) years’ experience in Manufacturing and or Warehousing
• Ability to obtain valid forklift operator certification
• Proven experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment in a warehouse or distribution center setting.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
• Basic mathematical skills. (add, subtract, multiply and divide)
• Ability to follow safety procedures inclusive of Nestle’s Life Saving Rules
• Ability to speak, read, write in English and comprehend simple instructions
• Physical ability to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs., stand, climb, bend, etc. within a warehouse / manufacturing environment.
• Required to utilize and understand basic digital devices such as computers, iPad, etc.
• Overtime may be required based on business needs
• Follow SOPs, GMPs and all other company policies and processes
• The work environment may be exposed to powders, chemicals and food allergens such as peanuts, tree nuts, milk, dairy, eggs, wheat, gluten, soy, fish and shellfish.

Pay: $21.85 - $22.85 per hour

The pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at top of range.
