Job summary

Ryerson is hiring a Warehouse Operator to handle staging, packing, and picking materials for shipments. You will use forklifts and SAP to ensure accurate shipping documentation and inventory control.

This role includes enrollment in a registered apprenticeship program during onboarding. The position focuses on accurate material handling, safety, and productive order fulfillment within a dynamic metal services environment in the United States.

Qualifications

• Pass a skills-based assessment covering reading, math, inspection & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving.
• Minimum 2 years of similar job experience preferred.
• Basic math skills required.
• Basic computer skills and/or comfort using a computer.
• Able to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, and mobility.
• Onboarding includes enrollment in a registered apprenticeship program.

Responsibilities

• Pick and stage feedstock for fulfillment orders.
• Break down bulk bundles for customer-specific orders.
• Package material to customer requirements.
• Operate sit-down or side loader forklift to move material.
• Complete paperwork and SAP work orders for shipping/receiving.
• Maintain maximum productivity for finished goods creation.
• Other duties as assigned, may change.

As a Service Center Operator B (SCOB) at Ryerson, you will be responsiblefor day-to-day staging, packing, and picking material for shipments using proper equipment.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Picking and staging feedstock for fulfillment orders
• Breaking down bulk bundles for customer-specific orders
• Packaging of material to customer requirements
• Operating a sit-down or side loader forklift to move material as needed
• Proper completion of paperwork and SAP work order confirmation for shipping/receiving on the computer
• Maximum productivity for finished goods creation
• All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Requirements
