Job summary

Axalta is seeking a Warehouse Associate at our Brighton, Michigan facility. Responsibilities include picking orders, scanning, palletizing for shipment, and inventory control. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

The position runs Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with occasional Saturdays and overtime. Candidates should have at least 2 years in warehousing and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing, or distribution.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse operations, shipping practices, and inventory processes.
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately pick customer orders, including selecting, stacking, and palletizing product for shipment.
  • Utilize RF scanning technology and complete required order documentation.
  • Operate automated stretch-wrap equipment to prepare pallets for shipping.
  • Audit shipment orders to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory control activities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Assist with packaging finished goods and perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

We are currently looking for a Warehouse Associate to join us at our facility in Brighton, Michigan. The Warehouse Associate is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations, including order fulfillment, inventory management, shipping preparation, and material handling. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, accuracy, quality, and teamwork in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; occasional Saturdays as business needs require. Overtime is expected.

Key responsibilities
  • Accurately pick customer orders, including selecting, stacking, and palletizing product for shipment.
  • Utilize RF scanning technology and complete required order documentation.
  • Operate automated stretch-wrap equipment to prepare pallets for shipping.
  • Audit shipment orders to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory control activities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Assist with packaging finished goods and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, regulations, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Report safety hazards, incidents, injuries, and accidents promptly.
  • Safely operate electric pallet jacks and other authorized warehouse equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, both verbally and in writing.
Minimum requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a shipping, receiving, warehousing, or distribution environment.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse operations, shipping practices, and inventory processes.
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
Preferred skills
  • Previous forklift certification or forklift operating experience.
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) shipping regulations.
  • Experience using FedEx Ship Manager or similar shipping software.
  • Experience with RF scanning systems and inventory management processes.
