Job summary

Sunward Steel Buildings is seeking a Warehouse Operative in Jamestown, ND. You will be part of the manufacturing team, handling receiving, inventory, and shipping preparation on a fast-paced dock.

This full-time role requires forklift experience and attention to detail to ensure accurate order fulfillment and safe material handling on the production floor.

Qualifications

• 1+ years warehouse or related experience.
• Forklift experience.
• Ability to read shipping documents.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Overhead crane certification or experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming material shipments and verify against purchase orders.
• Pick, pull, and deliver materials to production workstations.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and overhead cranes.
• Prepare finished components for outbound shipment and dock staging.
• Conduct cycle counts and inventory audits.
• Maintain clean, organized storage areas and dock zones.
• Follow safety rules and PPE requirements.
• Support production floor and overtime as needed.

The Opportunity

We are hiring a Warehouse Operative to join our Jamestown manufacturing team. You are the engine that keeps our production floor running - receiving materials, managing inventory, staging components, and making sure finished steel building products hit the dock on time. If you are organized, physically capable, and take pride in doing things right, we want to hear from you.

What You Will Do

• Receive incoming material shipments, verify against purchase orders, and document discrepancies
• Pick, pull, and deliver materials to production workstations according to job orders and schedules
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and overhead cranes to move materials and finished components safely
• Prepare finished steel building components for outbound shipment including sorting, bundling, labeling, and dock staging
• Conduct cycle counts and participate in inventory audits to maintain accurate records
• Maintain clean, organized, and clearly labeled storage areas and dock zones throughout every shift
• Follow all safety rules, OSHA standards, and PPE requirements - every time, no exceptions
• Support the production floor as needed to help the team meet customer deadlines - overtime as needed during peak periods

What We Are Looking For

• 1+ years of experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, or logistics environment
• Forklift operating experience - sit-down counterbalance and/or reach truck
• Ability to read work orders, packing slips, shipping documents, and inventory records
• Accurate, organized, and reliable - errors in receiving or shipping have real downstream consequences
• Forklift certification, overhead crane experience, or WMS familiarity are a plus but not required
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
