Zwiesel Fortessa Americas LLC in Winchester, VA, is seeking a Warehouse Operations Manager to lead day‑to‑day warehouse activities ensuring safe, accurate, and timely receipt, storage, and distribution of products.

You will direct labor, inventory control, shipping/receiving, and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining safety, quality, and company standards, collaborating cross‑functionally to support customer service and cost control.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of warehouse or distribution center operations experience.
  • 2+ years of people management or supervisory experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of WMS, inventory control, and fulfillment processes.
  • Proven experience managing KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage daily warehouse operations including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, and cycle counting.
  • Ensure fulfillment accuracy, order timeliness, and productivity targets are met or exceeded.
  • Establish and optimize standard operating procedures to improve efficiency and reduce errors.

  • Lead, train, and develop warehouse supervisors and associates with measurable KPIs.
  • Enforce OSHA safety programs and promote a safe warehouse environment.

We are seeking a full‑time Warehouse Operations Manager to join our team at our distribution facility in Winchester, Virginia.

Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY

The Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for leading all day‑to‑day warehouse operations to ensure safe, efficient, accurate, and timely receipt, storage, and distribution of products. This role oversees labor, inventory control, shipping, receiving, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and company standards. The manager partners cross‑functionally to support customer service levels, cost control, and operational scalability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Leadership
  • Direct and manage daily warehouse operations including receiving, put‑away, picking, packing, shipping, and cycle counting
  • Ensure fulfillment accuracy, order timeliness, and productivity targets are consistently met or exceeded
  • Establish and optimize standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve efficiency and reduce errors
  • Plan labor and workflow based on volume forecasts and operational needs
Inventory & Quality Control
  • Oversee inventory accuracy through cycle counts, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of all products, including fragile, high‑value, or regulated items
  • Monitor shrink, damages, and discrepancies and implement prevention strategies
  • Partner with Inventory and Planning teams to maintain optimal stock levels
People Management & Development
  • Lead, train, coach, and develop warehouse supervisors and associates
  • Set clear performance expectations supported by measurable KPIs
  • Conduct performance reviews and support succession planning
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce all OSHA, company safety programs, and regulatory requirements
  • Promote a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment (5S principles)
Continuous Improvement & Cost Control
  • Identify process improvement opportunities using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies
  • Reduce labor and materials costs while maintaining service levels
  • Support warehouse layout optimization, slotting, and automation initiatives
  • Leverage WMS and reporting tools to drive data‑based decisions
Technology & Systems
  • Ensure effective use of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and related tools
  • Partner with IT and Operations leadership on system upgrades, integrations, and automation projects
  • Analyze operational reports and trends to improve performance
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of warehouse or distribution center operations experience
  • 2+ years of people management or supervisory experience
  • Strong working knowledge of WMS, inventory control, and fulfillment processes
  • Proven experience managing KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Profiecient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in high‑volume, multi‑SKU distribution environments
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement certification
  • Experience with warehouse automation and material handling equipment
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Additional Information

The anticipated salary range for this position is $70,000-$90,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, as well as the candidate’s experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. In addition to competitive base pay, eligible employees may receive quarterly bonus opportunities based on individual and company performance.
