Job summary

Host Terminals in Avondale, LA is seeking a Warehouse Team Lead to supervise warehousing operations involved in loading and discharging break-bulk and project cargo for vessels, rail, and trucks. The role requires cross-training across operations to support peak periods at the terminal.

The ideal candidate has a supervisory background, forklift certification, and experience with WMS; strong leadership, safety focus, and problem solving are essential to maintain efficient, safe cargo handling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or HS diploma with 3+ years of supervisory operations experience.
• Forklift certification.
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Knowledge of lean warehousing or continuous improvement practices.
• Ability to respond to issues quickly, safely and effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
• Self-starter with leadership, communication, analytical, decision making and problem solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license and TWIC or ability to obtain a TWIC.

Responsibilities

• Oversee warehousing operations for loading and discharging cargo.
• Lead daily operations meetings and safety briefings.
• Coordinate daily workflow for receiving, picking, packing, staging, and shipping.
• Monitor productivity, labor utilization, and workflow efficiency.
• Collaborate with other departments and utilize WMS/DC systems.
• Identify hazards and report unsafe conditions.
