Job summary

Pepsi Cola Champaign-Urbana Bottling Co. is seeking a warehouse associate responsible for forklift operation, loading routes at 6:00am, and stock organization. Duties include receiving shipments, labeling pallets, rotating stock, and maintaining clean, safe work areas.

Responsibilities also cover building pallets, preparing products for loading, and assisting with various warehouse projects as directed by the Warehouse Manager. Must be available for 5am–2pm shifts and work on-site.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to operate a forklift safely and maintain annual certification.
  • Ability to lift 25 lb repeatedly and up to 50 lb occasionally.
  • Physically able to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
  • Must speak, read and write English clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Load trucks for daily route by 6:00am and stack empty shells in dunnage area.
  • Refill low product in floor locations and in roller racks; process receiving duties and inspect shipments.
  • Label pallets, track items close to 60 days before expiry, rotate stock by 11:00am.
  • Receive shipments in VIP, verify against bill of lading and ASN; route orders and print pick lists.
  • Build pallets, remove plastic wrap, and prepare products for loading onto trucks.
  • Perform cleaning duties and maintain facility organization; assist with warehouse projects.
  • Remain on site until opening shift duties are completed and supervised.

Job description

  • Must be forklift certified. Able to safely operate all plant equipment.
  • Load trucks for their daily route by 6:00am.
  • Properly stack all empty shells in dunnage area. Wrap full pallets of empty shells and move to the proper staging area.
  • Refill low product in all floor locations and in roller racks.
  • Perform all receiving duties. Duties include:
  • Physically check the products on the shipment against the bill of lading, for accuracy.
  • Properly label pallets and check for close dated items. Report anything going out of date within 60 days to the Warehouse Manager.
  • Rotate product and put away in the assigned locations by 11:00am.
  • Receive shipments in VIP. Double check the bill of lading against the ASN in VIP for accuracy.
  • Route orders and print pick lists.
  • Optimize pallet configuration and truck loading for commercial orders.
  • Pick orders and build pallets safely, accurately, and efficiently, by following the assigned pick path. Ensure all products are visible to the checker.
  • Load staged product safely onto full line and express trucks, as needed.
  • Remove plastic wrap from pallets and level off all pallets.
  • Tear down returned pallets and return product to proper locations.
  • Cleaning duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Sweeping area and behind pallets
  • Wash floors with the floor scrubber.
  • Clean off and plug in forklists and pallet jacks.
  • Clean and sort damaged product area
  • Empty and wash all garbage cans
  • Wash company vehicles
  • Assist with the organization and cleanliness of the entire facility – interior and exterior.
  • Assist with any warehouse projects, as delegated by the Warehouse Manager.
  • Remain on site until all opening shift duties are completed and/or you are dismissed by your supervisor.

Requirements
  • Must have the ability to operate a forklift in a safe manner and maintain annual forklift certification (applies to 18 or older employees).
  • Ability to continually lift 25 pounds from floor to waist height and occasionally lift 50 pounds from floor to shoulder height.
  • Applicant must be physically able to lift 31 to 40 pounds about sixty times per hour; 11 to 20 pounds about 20 times an hour, over 50 pounds around six times an hour
