Job summary

Johnstone Supply in New York, Town of Florida, is seeking a Material Handler I to receive, fill, and ship products accurately in a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will operate power equipment, unload shipments, verify orders, scan barcodes, and assist with inventory and safety procedures.

Requires high school diploma/GED, 0–1 year related experience, and forklift certification; English proficiency essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 0-1 year of related experience and/or training.
• Forklift certification required, or willingness to obtain on the job.
• Experience with RF scanners and inventory management systems.
• English proficiency is essential for safety and communication.

Responsibilities

• Operates power equipment (electric pallet, walkie rider, sit-down forklift) to locate, store, and move products.
• Unloads shipments using forklift, pallet jack, or by hand.
• Inspects shipments for damage and verifies quantity against packing lists.
• Scans products, prints labels, and resolves labeling discrepancies.
• Picks and packs orders, prepares shipments, and completes paperwork.
• Maintains accuracy and follows standard operating procedures.
• Supports inventory cycle counts and safety compliance.
