Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is hiring a permanent full-time Warehouse Sit Down Forklift Operator in Wilmington, IL. You’ll operate electric sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, and RF scanners in a clean, safe facility, handling food products and supporting distribution across the U.S.

The role offers weekly pay, paid training, and benefits including medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k) plan. A valid forklift license and at least 1 year of warehouse experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year or more related warehouse experience preferred.
• Valid Forklift Operator's License certified.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Able to work a diverse environment and be punctual.

Responsibilities

• Perform warehouse functions including loading, picking, packing, shipping and receiving.
• Operate forklift and assist with cycle counting and staging.
• Manage paperwork associated with warehouse activities.
• Provide support for automated packing systems during shift hours.
• Adhere to performance measures and safety guidelines.

Ryder is immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Warehouse Sit Down Forklift Operator in Wilmington, Illinois

Warehouse Forklift Operator / Driver Positions Pay Weekly

Up to $24.00 per hour (including shift differentials)

• Base pay: $21.00 per hour

• 3% increase after 1 year

• Additional Pay:

• Shift Differentials: $3.00 per hour when working B shift

• Schedule:

• B: Sunday–Tuesday 5:00 pm -4:30 am and Wednesday 5:00 pm–10:45 pm

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• One (1) year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred

• Valid Forklift Operator's License certified

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

Responsibilities

• Perform warehouse function, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting

• Performing duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract

• Responsible for the accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products and loading and unloading of trucks

• Responsible of dealing with day to day paperwork in a warehouse environment (i.e. picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.)

• Provide technical and maintenance support for different aspects related to the automated packing system during the core shift hour of production

• Performing duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract

• Performs other duties as assigned.
