Job summary

Veolia invites applications for a Warehouse Material Handler to manage inventory, receive and store materials (hazardous and non-hazardous), and operate forklifts at environmental services facilities.

You will maintain accurate records, ensure safety compliance, and collaborate with a team to keep warehouses organized and efficient in a demanding industrial setting in Norfolk, VA.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year of warehouse, forklift operation, or resin/water treatment experience.
  • Strong communication and organization skills.

Responsibilities

  • Receive shipments and unload using forklifts or similar equipment.
  • Verify items against documentation and store properly.
  • Inspect items for damage and maintain accurate storage records.
  • Maintain inventory records and calibration/operation logs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Use warehouse management systems for inventory tracking.
  • Stock control and routine cycle counts.
  • Keep the workspace clean and organized; handle hazardous chemicals safely.

Job Description

Job Summary:

The WarehouseMaterial Handler ensures inventory control management and warehouse operationsfor environmental services facilities, handling hazardous and non-hazardous materials safely, operatingforklifts and other material handling equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive incoming shipments of goods, often using forklifts or other equipment to unload trucksand other delivery vehicles.
  • Verify that the items received match the accompanying documentation
  • Inspect items for damage before moving them to designated storage areas
  • Maintainaccurate, neat and complete records of all calibration/operation logs and reports
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards
  • Use warehouse management systems for inventory tracking
  • Receipt, storage, issue and stock control of materials in the warehouse
  • Maintains all reagent and chemical inventory in the calibration room
  • Assist Material buyer in cycle count, blind and yearly inventory
  • Receiving, issuing parts listed for plant and field use
  • Responsible for stocking spill kits, firelocker and housekeeping of waste management areas
  • Responsible for rebuilding, testing all configurations of Cla-Vals and dosing pumps
  • Handling of potentially hazardous chemicals
  • Responsible for all hazardous chemical storage areas, deliveries, tank levels and dilutions duringthe shift.
  • Follow safety procedures when operating equipment and handling materials
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure it is in goodworking order
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that loading and dockingareas are clear
Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required:

  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly

  • At least 2 years of experience in a comparable manufacturing or warehouse environmentinvolving chemical handling
  • ERP experience in SAP
  • Knowledge of Water Technology
  • Knowledge of the lab, workwith lab technicians and performquality control checks
  • Operates yard-mule and forklift as business needs

Education and Experience

Required:

  • HS Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience and knowledge of warehouse management, forklift operation and/or resins and water treatment experience

Preferred:

  • Warehouse Management knowledge

Working Conditions:

  • Ability and willingness to perform physical duties such as lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, workingat elevated heights, and manual dexterity
  • Ability and willingness to work in a range of environments to include but not limited to industrialfacilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilities
