Job summary

Shyft6 is seeking a Food Manufacturing Associate in McKinney, TX to prepare and process ingredients for production, weighing, labeling, and organizing materials per recipes and SOPs. You will maintain a clean workspace, operate equipment safely, and help minimize waste while adhering to food safety standards.

Responsibilities include recording lot numbers, following GMPs and HACCP plans after training, and assisting with training new staff as needed; a high school diploma is required.

Job description

The Food Manufacturing Associate is responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing and processing ingredients for production. This includes weighing, labeling, organizing, and preparing materials according to recipes, SOPs, and food safety requirements. The associate is also expected to maintain a clean and organized work area, safely operate equipment, minimize waste, and follow all company safety and food manufacturing procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately process and prepare ingredients, including breaking down bulk materials, weighing, and labeling according to recipes and SOP requirements.
• Prevent foreign materials from entering products during ingredient preparation.
• Minimize product and material waste throughout the preparation process.
• Accurately record lot numbers and weights and ensure all materials are properly labeled for inventory tracking and allocation.
• Meet individual performance and productivity expectations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace while following clean-as-you-go practices.
• Safely operate manual and electric pallet jacks after completing required plant certification.
• Safely operate production and material‑handling equipment as needed.
• Safely use knives and other hand tools when opening ingredient packaging.
• Participate in required training related to the position.
• Assist with training new employees within the department when needed.
• Perform other duties requiring similar skills and working conditions as assigned.

Food Safety & Compliance

• Complete all required production and food safety documentation accurately and honestly.
• Follow all company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and employee and food safety policies.
• Follow all applicable allergen‑control procedures and requirements.
• Report suspicious packages, activities, or individuals according to company procedures.
• Properly monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs) when assigned and follow established HACCP plans after receiving the required training.
• Employees are expected to work safely, efficiently, and accurately while maintaining high standards for food quality, cleanliness, and workplace safety. Responsibilities may be reassigned to another properly trained associate when coverage is required.
