The ideal candidate is organized, safety-minded, and able to supervise staff and processes in a fast-paced environment, onsite at Solon.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or 6 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and distribution.
  • Ability to operate a forklift; annual certification required.
  • Strong decision making, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for receipt, storage, and distribution of materials.
  • Maintain inventory levels and ensure timely distribution of goods.
  • Track inventory with physical counts and warehouse systems.
  • Comply with safety regulations and procedures.
  • Perform light manufacturing tasks (punching, bending, cutting) using power tools.

Warehouse Manager

Location: Solon, OH (onsite)

Pay Range: $20 to $23 per hour

Employment Type: Part time, hourly

About the Role

We are looking for a hands on Warehouse Manager to oversee daily warehouse operations at our Solon, OH facility. This role blends leadership with hands on work, including light manufacturing tasks such as punching, bending, and cutting metal. The ideal candidate is organized, safety minded, and comfortable managing inventory, shipping, and receiving while also stepping in on the floor when needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures governing the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Support the organization's supply chain strategy by maintaining appropriate inventory levels and ensuring timely distribution of goods.
  • Track inventory by performing physical counts and verifying information against warehousing systems.
  • Ensure warehouse operations comply with applicable regulations governing materials handling, storage, and distribution.
  • Comply with and enforce all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Perform light manufacturing tasks, mainly punching, bending, and cutting a variety of metals using power tools such as a chop saw, power drill, and band saw.
  • Oversee receiving and shipping operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing effective manufacturing and distribution of goods.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance.
  • Ability to perform complex tasks by following established processes.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer and personal service.
  • Bachelor's degree or at least 6 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Ability to foster teamwork among staff.
  • Strong decision making, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Solid management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Planning and time management skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate a forklift; annual certification required.
Key Responsibilities by Area

Receiving and Processing

  • Unload delivery vehicles and check received items against purchase orders or bills of lading.
  • Inspect stock for damage, faults, or missing items.
  • Label, sort, and route merchandise to the proper storage locations or departments.
  • Physical lifting requirement: up to 55 pounds.

Order Fulfillment and Shipping

  • Pick merchandise from storage locations based on work orders or pick lists.
  • Pack items securely and apply accurate shipping labels to avoid routing errors.
  • Load outgoing trucks and shipping containers safely and efficiently.
  • Physical lifting requirement: up to 55 pounds.
  • Use of step ladder and rolling platform ladder.

Inventory Management

  • Physically count and log inventory levels.
  • Rotate stock on shelves.
  • Identify discrepancies and report lost or damaged items to Purchasing.
  • Physical lifting requirement: up to 55 pounds.
  • Use of step ladder and rolling platform ladder.

Equipment Operation and Safety

  • Safely operate material handling equipment, such as a forklift and hand trucks.
  • Strictly adhere to health and safety regulations, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard free workspace.
