Job summary

Interstate Batteries seeks a Warehouse Manager to oversee inventory movements in the distributorship's warehouse in Oklahoma City. You will supervise 2–3 warehouse workers, manage inbound/outbound shipments, and drive process improvements while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires strong leadership, inventory control experience, and excellent communication skills to coordinate with carriers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year warehouse management experience including inventory control procedures and inventory/accounting relationships
• 3 years of general warehouse operations experience
• Strong leadership, management, motivation and teamwork skills
• Strong written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills
• Strong organization and time management skills and able to work under pressure
• Working knowledge of carrier operations, shipment routing and distribution methods
• Understanding of state, federal and interstate commerce regulations
• Working knowledge of computers or ability to learn applicable systems required
• Strong training and coaching skills
• Understanding of hazardous shipping laws and requirements
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle and/or forklift
• Clean driving record and meet driver qualifications requirements

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory movement in the warehouse and oversee loading/unloading of trucks
• Direct 2–3 Warehouse Workers and supervise daily operations
• Engage team in continuous process improvement practices
• Implement standard operating procedures and ensure performance standards are met or exceeded
• Maintain inventory quality, accuracy and asset protection
• Develop stock locations and picking strategies to optimize workflow
• Ensure warehouse operations comply with safety and legal standards
• Process inbound receiving of containers, truck shipments, and small parcels
• Prepare and distribute operational reports
• Operate forklift and train staff in safe forklift use
• Fulfill driver program requirements as specified by the manager

Purpose of Job:

The Manager, Warehouse is responsible for all inventory movement in Distributorship’s warehouse including loading and unloading trucks, supervising 2-3 Warehouse Workers, ordering and handling bi products and Econos and processing cores.

Job Components :

• Must be able to perform all warehouse jobs including : Receiving, Putaways, Picking, Replenishments, Packing, Palletizing, and Shipping
• Directs Warehouse Workers
• Participates and engages team in the practice of continuous process improvement
• Responsible for implementation of applicable standard operating procedures and accountable for ensuring performance standards are met/exceeded
• Manages inventory quality, accuracy and asset protection
• Develops stock location and order picking strategies to optimize work flow, space utilization, and labor productivity
• Ensures that operations warehouse processes are conducted safely and within the law and applicable compliance standards
• Process inbound receiving of containers or full truck, truck pallet shipments, and small parcel shipments
• Prepares and distributes operational reports
• Operates forklift and trains Warehouse Workers in safe and efficient use of same
• Follow / fulfill all driver program requirements, as specified by the manager

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year warehouse management experience including inventory control procedures and inventory/ accounting relationships

Work Environment:

• Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, talk and hear, stand and walk
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• Be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, without assistance and occasionally lifting up to 75lbs
• Exposed to battery warehouse conditions such as exposure to moving equipment mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals
• Exposed to the hazards of the road when operating or riding in a vehicle
• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required.
