Job summary

Interstate Batteries in Amarillo seeks a Warehouse Manager to oversee all inventory movement, supervise 2-3 workers, and ensure safe, compliant operations. You will direct receiving, putaways, picking, packing and shipping while optimizing flow, space use and labor productivity.

The role requires leadership, strong communication, and practical knowledge of carrier operations and regulatory requirements. Forklift skills and a proactive approach to process improvement are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year warehouse management experience including inventory control procedures.
• 3 years of general warehouse operations experience.
• Strong leadership, motivation and teamwork skills.
• Excellent written, interpersonal and verbal communication.
• Organized, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Working knowledge of carrier operations, shipment routing and distribution.
• Understanding of state, federal and interstate commerce regulations.
• Computers knowledge or ability to learn applicable systems is required.
• Strong training and coaching skills.
• Knowledge of hazardous shipping laws and requirements.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle and/or forklift with a clean driving record.

• Implements standard operating procedures and drives performance standards.
• Ensures inventory accuracy and asset protection; optimizes stock locations.
• Prepares operational reports and ensures safety and compliance.
• Operates forklift and trains staff in safe use.
• Meets driver program requirements and supports transportation processes.

Purpose of Job:

The Manager, Warehouse is responsible for all inventory movement in Distributorship’s warehouse including loading and unloading trucks, supervising 2-3 Warehouse Workers, ordering and handling bi products and Econos and processing cores.

Job Components :

• Must be able to perform all warehouse jobs including : Receiving, Putaways, Picking, Replenishments, Packing, Palletizing, and Shipping
• Directs Warehouse Workers
• Participates and engages team inthe practice ofcontinuous process improvement
• Responsible forimplementationofapplicablestandardoperating procedures andaccountable forensuringperformance standardsare met/exceeded
• Manages inventory quality, accuracy and asset protection
• Develops stock location and order picking strategies to optimize work flow, space utilization, and labor productivity
• Ensures thatoperationswarehouse processesare conducted safely and within thelaw and applicablecompliance standards
• Process inbound receiving of containers or full truck, truck pallet shipments, and small parcel shipments
• Prepares and distributes operational reports
• Operates forklift and trains Warehouse Workers in safe and efficient use of same
• Follow / fulfill all driver program requirements, as specified by the manager

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year warehouse management experience including inventory control procedures and inventory/ accounting relationships
• 3 years of general warehouse operations experience.
• Superior leadership, management, motivation and teamwork skills
• Strong written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills
• Strong organization and time management skills and able to work under pressure
• Working knowledge of carrier operations, shipment routing and distribution methods
• Understanding of state, federal and interstate commerce regulations
• Working knowledge of computers or ability to learn applicable systems required
• Strong training and coaching skills
• Have keen understanding of hazardous shipping laws and requirements
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle and/or forklift
• Must have a clean drivers record AND meet driver qualifications requirements

Work Environment:

• Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, talk and hear, stand and walk
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• Be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, without assistance and occasionally lifting up to 75lbs
• Exposed to battery warehouse conditions such as exposure to moving equipment mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals
• Exposed to the hazards of the road when operating or riding in a vehicle
• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)required.
