Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Romeoville, IL is seeking a Warehouse Maintenance Technician. You will respond to equipment breakdowns, troubleshoot and repair conveyors, forklifts, and related systems while following safety procedures.

The role includes preventative maintenance and coordinating with outside contractors to keep operations running smoothly. Ideal candidates have a strong mechanical background, knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and basic electricals, plus basic inventory skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanical maintenance experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and basic electrical systems.
• Experience with relays, photo eyes and proximity sensors.
• Basic computer and parts inventory system skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to unplanned equipment breakdowns during production.
• Troubleshoot, disassemble and reassemble manufacturing equipment.
• Maintain material handling equipment such as conveyors and forklifts.
• Adhere to established safety procedures.
• Complete routine lubrications, repairs and troubleshooting tasks.
• Assist and monitor all work by outside contractors.
• Maintain inventory controls for cost-effective operations.
• Schedule and complete preventative maintenance procedures.
• Ensure safety standards comply with guidelines.
