What you’ll be doing:

As a Maintenance Technician 2, you will perform preventative and reactive maintenance on conveyors, electrical motors, material handling equipment, skill saws, propane torches, man-lifts, hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, grinders, electrical test equipment, ladders, lift equipment jacks, chargers, and batteries.

You will also perform general building maintenance including overhead doors, construction repair, roll carts, floor repairs, second-level gates, doors, etc. Light plumbing maintenance and carpentry tasks will also be part of your responsibilities.

You will be essential to the success of Staples Supply Chain as we deliver to our customers.

What you bring to the table:

  • A mechanical aptitude, knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, pneumatics, and ability to read blueprints and schematics, including electrical schematics.
  • Ability to use vendor manuals and procedures to perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.
  • Willingness to be trained and certified to operate power material handling equipment, such as forklifts and electric pallet jacks.
  • An inclusive approach to colleagues and customers to foster strong relationships and collaboration.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to quickly adopt safety procedures and ensure safe work practices.
  • Comfort working in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature variations.
  • Basic English skills (verbal and written).

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of related experience.
  • Ability to pass a drug screening, legally permissible.
  • Availability to work additional hours beyond scheduled shifts as needed, including overtime.
  • Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet or more.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull boxes/merchandise weighing between 70 and 100 pounds.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Trade school background preferred.
