Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic to perform general maintenance duties in a fast-paced warehouse setting. You will help keep power equipment and facilities in top condition, support safety programs, and adapt to flexible shifts to meet member needs.

The role requires basic mechanical experience, rostered on a weekly pay cycle, with opportunities to grow within a large, member-focused retailer. Ability to work in a refrigerated DC and wear PPE is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous mechanical experience 1–2 years.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to use email, word-processing, spreadsheets, WMS and other applications.
• Ability to accommodate flexible schedules to meet member needs including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment with heat, cold, noise and dust.
• Utilize equipment safely after training (computer, handheld tracker, copiers, scanners, printers, radio headsets).

Responsibilities

• Maintaining cleanliness and operation of power equipment (forklift, pallet jacks, sweeper, scrubber, tugger, reach trucks, wrap machines, dock lock, leveler, clamp attachments).
• Perform preventative maintenance on power equipment.
• Conduct general warehouse maintenance and minor repairs to equipment and facilities.
• Follow safety programs including lockout/tagout and hazardous materials procedures.
• Operate powered equipment and read schematics as needed.
• Handle flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, holidays and on-call requests.
• Other duties as assigned

Job Summary:

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing general maintenance duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintaining cleanliness of power equipment including: forklift, pallet jacks, sweeper, scrubber, tugger, reach trucks, wrap machines, dock lock, leveler, and clamp attachments.
• Perform preventative maintenance on power equipment.
• Perform general warehouse maintenance duties to maintain a safe and professional work environment both in and outside the warehouse, including assisting with equipment maintenance and minor building and equipment repairs.
• Possess a level of proficiency in all maintenance required programs including the recycling programs, lock out/tag out procedures and hazardous materials.
• Operate powered equipment including: forklift, pallet jack, tugger, clamp attachments and sweeper/scrubber.
• Read schematics
• Responsible for minor facility and equipment repairs
• Ability to accommodate flexible schedules to include nights, weekends, holidays and on-call requests.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED. College coursework, continuing technical education or comparable business experience is a plus.
• Previous mechanical experience 1 to 2 years.

Environmental Job Conditions:

• Independently lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and 100 lbs. occasionally
• Sit, stand, walk bend, squat on a frequent to continual basis in a refrigerated warehouse environment
• Grasp, reach, push or pull (such as boxes of product, or a hand truck) on a frequent basis
• Endurance for continuous, fast paced work
• Fluctuating temperatures within the perishable DC including freezing temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit
• Able to work while wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as steel-toed protective footwear, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, insulated clothing, etc)
• Products may contain food allergens (such as fish, shellfish, peanuts, etc.)

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $24.75-$29.90.
