Job summary

Parkland Corporation is seeking a safety‑minded Tanker Driver to transport bulk oil and fuel in a timely and compliant manner. You will operate pumps, secure loads, and coordinate with dispatchers to ensure accurate deliveries while maintaining high safety standards.

The role requires a valid CDL, clean driving record, and ability to work long hours, including night shifts, in all weather conditions. Previous tanker/Hazmat experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B Driver's License.
• Clean driving record.
• Current DOT Medical Card.
• Tanker and Hazmat endorsements (preferred, but not required).
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and in winter driving conditions.
• Able and willing to work long hours including day and night shifts.
• Able to climb ladders and walk on top of tanker surfaces.

• Ability to move and maneuver heavy drums and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Safely transports bulk oil and fuel from tank wagons and vans in a professional and compliant manner.
• Operates pumps and valves on and off the truck to fill tanks of various sizes using hoses, nozzles and fittings.
• Secures products and tools using approved methods to prevent spills or accidents.
• Load and unload materials as required, with regular lifting and handling of items.
• Ensure orders conform to DPIM standards and communicate issues promptly to supervision.
• Represent the company professionally to customers and the trucking industry.
• Coordinate with Dispatchers to resolve transit or delivery issues and meet customer needs.
• Maintain records and reports in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Follow safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods and post-inspection checks.
• Assist in warehouse tasks as needed and support inventory movements.
• Maintain confidentiality of data and adhere to safety and security policies.

Responsibilities

• Safely transports bulk oil & fuel off of tank wagon & van trucks in a professional, safe, efficient, timely and legal manner.
• Operates pumps and valves both on and off the truck and safely fills tanks of all types and sizes using various size hoses, nozzles and fittings.
• Secures all products, hoses, and other essential tools required of the job are secured by using approved securing method, such as tie downs, straps, etc.
• Load and unload tank wagon or van truck when required while performing frequent lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying of products, hoses, and applicable tools for the job.
• Ensure customer orders are correct and handled and delivered by DPIM (Distributor Product Integrity Manual) standards. Monitor key performance data to anticipate customer service problems, opportunities and risks. Report problems to supervisor in a timely and accurate manner and follow-up to ensure problem resolutions.
• Represent C&B to our customers, the public and the Trucking Industry in a professional manner always.
• Coordinate with Dispatchers to resolve any issues, problems or concerns that arise in transit or during delivery. Decide and disseminate solutions to meet and satisfy customer needs. Coordinate with management, Dispatchers, customers, and fellow employees to fulfill customer orders.
• Maintains a viable relationship with Management, Dispatchers, customers, and fellow employees to ensure customers 'needs are met at all times
• Complete all necessary paperwork and maintain records required under State and Federal Laws and Regulations.
• Provides accurate accident, safety and various other related reporting as required. Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
• Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods by completing and post safety inspections of trucks, trailers, and equipment to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order. Report vehicle defects, incidents, traffic violations or damage to the trucks, trailers, and/or equipment immediately.
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
• Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be required by immediate supervisor
• May assist in warehouse on an Ad Hoc basis by safely operating warehouse equipment (e.g. forklift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.) for the purpose of moving large and heavy items safely and effectively. Loads and unloads delivery trucks for the purpose of receiving stock and/or filling orders for transport, including package or bulk conveyance, protecting the product integrity and minimizing the risk for spills.
• Employee must demonstrate safe work and risk management practices. Communicate and enforce all safety and security issues. Report and process all employee and/or customer incidents or unsafe acts in accordance with Sunoco policy and procedure.
• Ensure that confidentiality of data collected and stored are maintained.
• Employee is expected to set priorities and meet deadlines. Employee is responsible for planning and carrying out assignments, resolving conflicts that arise, informing and coordinating with others as expected. Employee is accountable for ensuring the technical accuracy of their work and maintaining good working relations, both internal and external to Parkland. Self-direction and motivation are also expected.
