Job summary

El Rio Grande Latin Market in Dallas, TX is seeking a warehouse associate to support receiving, loading, and distribution in a grocery warehouse environment.

Responsibilities include operating forklifts and pallet jacks, moving items to loading docks, wrapping pallets, labeling, auditing inventory, and keeping accurate records. OSHA forklift certification is preferred; must be able to lift and move heavy loads as required.

Qualifications

• OSHA Forklift Certification preferred.
• Experience in grocery warehouse (preferred).
• Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, and kneel.
• Experience operating powered industrial equipment (forklift, pallet jacks, stock pickers).

Responsibilities

• Inspect empty trailers at the loading dock to ensure cleanliness and readiness.
• Move outgoing products from staging area to loading dock with forklift.
• Wrap pallets with cellophane and secure loads with shipping labels.
• Transport items to be shipped into trailers using forklift, pallet jack or by hand.
• Locate trailer slots, set and secure loads.
• Inspect empty pallets for damage and move to storage with pallet jack or forklift.
• Assist Order Selectors and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Document audit results and discuss with leadership team.
• Communicate effectively with team members across functions.
• Apply quality checks to confirm goods quality before stores.
• Handle store complaints and adjust credits as needed.
• Maintain inventory in the office system.

Job description

• Pay or shift range: $16 USD to $17 USD The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

Description

Responsibilities

• Inspect empty trailers at the loading dock to insure they are clean and clear before loading and take appropriate action as needed
• Move out going products from staging area to the loading dock with forklift
• Wrap pallets with cellophane, secure load/pallets and make sure shipping labels are in place as needed
• Transport items to be shipped into the trailer with a forklift, pallet jack or by hand in the correct stop sequence, according to a predetermined loading plan
• Locate the proper slot on the trailer for the order, set it in place and secure the load when complete
• Inspect empty pallets for damage, stack and move pallets with pallet jack or forklift to the proper storage area
• Assist Order Selectors and perform other similar duties as requested or assigned by supervisor
• Document the audit results which will include daily data entry and discuss the audit results with the leadership team
• Communicate effectively with the team members with peers in various functions
• Make use of quality checking methods to confirm the quality of goods supplied to the stores
• Handle store complaints and adjust credits to stores
• Inventory management software office system
• Additional tasks can be added at request of management

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating powered industrial equipment (i.e., forklift, pallet jacks, stock pickers, ), and OSHA Forklift Certification strongly preferred
• Preferably loading/unloading experience
• Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, and kneel
• Has experience working in a grocery warehouse (preferred)
• Skilled in counting moving goods
• Proven auditing experience and math skill
• Can work under pressure
• Professionalism and organization
