Job summary

Utz Quality Foods is seeking a Warehouse Lead for our Rice Distribution Center in Hanover, PA. You will lead daily operations, supervise the shift, and ensure safe, on-time performance.

Responsibilities include directing outbound logistics, inventory accuracy, and staff coaching. Strong forklift experience, RF scanning, and Excel proficiency are essential. Weekend shifts require active floor leadership and safety oversight.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support daily warehouse operations and coordinate outbound shipments
• Oversee case-picking, ensure accuracy and productivity
• Assign tasks, monitor progress, and coordinate with replenishment and outbound teams
• Validate orders for accuracy and proper system entry
• Ensure correct trailer and door assignments for on-time deliveries
• Monitor trailer shortages, cube utilization, and flow across the shift
• Assist loaders, pickers, and conveyor operators to maximize efficiency
• Load/unload conveyors and organize inventory with accurate scanning
• Support cycle counts, audits, and physical inventories
• Train staff on picking systems, RF scanners, and safety procedures
• Suggest process improvements to boost warehouse efficiency
• Act as supervisor when needed and provide leadership coverage
• Spend most of the shift on the floor supervising operations
• Maintain quality, food safety, and warehouse safety standards

Shift:

Friday to Sunday 5:30PM-5:30AM.

Responsibilities

• Support daily warehouse operations, including retrieving, organizing, and distributing outbound shipment materials
• Oversee case-picking operations to ensure accuracy, productivity, and efficiency
• Assign picking tasks, monitor progress, and coordinate workflow with replenishment and outbound teams
• Validate picked orders for accuracy, completeness, and proper system entry
• Ensure trailer and door assignments are correct to support on-time deliveries
• Monitor trailer shortages, cube utilization, and operational flow throughout the shift
• Assist loaders, pickers, conveyor operators, and warehouse associates to maximize shift efficiency
• Load and unload conveyor systems, organize products into storage, and scan inventory accurately
• Support inventory control through cycle counts, audits, and physical inventories
• Investigate, document, and report incidents or operational concerns during the shift
• Train and guide associates on picking systems, RF scanners, equipment operation, and safety procedures
• Recommend and support process improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency and workflow
• Step in as acting supervisor when needed and provide leadership coverage across shifts
• Spend the majority of the shift on the warehouse floor actively supporting and supervising operations
• Maintain quality, food safety, and warehouse safety standards at all times

Requirements

• Previous warehouse leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• Extensive forklift experience, including High Reach experience or willingness to learn
• Experience with shipping, loading, and warehouse operations
• Ability to plan and execute daily shipping schedules effectively
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Experience using RF scanners, warehouse systems, and inventory tracking tools
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to learn new systems quickly
• Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active warehouse environment
• Ability to work independently while supporting a team-oriented culture
• Flexibility to support additional responsibilities and shift coverage as needed
