Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Warehouse Lead to manage day-to-day shipping and receiving at the Devens warehouse site in Lunenberg, MA, with occasional work at the Devens plant.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily dispatch to ensure timely and cost-effective shipment methods.
• Identify opportunities to maximize cubing out of trailers to increase utilization of assets and increase cost savings.
• Coordinate material staging, shipments, pick and pack order fulfillment, expired inventory management, and raw and customer owned inventory.
• Maintain working knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations and general routes to create time efficient shipping schedules.
• Work collaboratively with Production to assess, manage, and prioritize customer requests to ensure load planning accuracy, mitigate delays, and enable high customer satisfaction.
• Ensure Shipping Clerks and PIT Drivers are safely operating material handling equipment (e.g. forklift) and properly adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
• Partner with 3 rd Party Logistics Companies to coordinate dock times for customer receipt of inventory.

As the Logistics Team Lead, you will be primarily responsible for organizing and managing the day-to-day logistical activities for shipping and receiving of the Devens Warehouse facility in Lunenberg, MA. Your role is also responsible for ensuring personnel operate efficiently and safely, maximizing shipping efficiencies while minimizing shipping costs, and coordinating with 3rd Party Logistics Companies to ensure on-time delivery of customer products and high customer satisfaction. This person must also be willing to work, as needed, at the main plant location in Devens, MA.

What you need to succeed:

• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• 3 years of experience in Shipping and Receiving in a warehouse environment
• Great written and verbal communication skills with ability to adjust communication style and interact across all levels of the organization
• Ability to coach and develop talent to create a highly productive, safety-conscious team
• Strong decision-making skills with the ability to adapt and quickly respond to unforeseen changes in the production environment
• Well organized with great time management skills to manage the execution of multiple priorities

The starting rate is $33 per hour, depending on your role, level, and location. The benefits for this role may include short-term bonus incentive, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and paid sick leave as required by applicable state/local law, 10 days of paid vacation, and 11 days of paid holidays, subject to annual change.
