Job summary

KeHE Distributors, LLC is seeking a Warehouse Associate to join our employee-owned team. The Associate, Warehouse Operations role is a leadership-capacity position supporting supervisors and managers in the department, with coverage across production areas and a strong safety focus.

The role requires lifting, operating powered industrial equipment, and working with inventories and orders to meet KeHE’s customer needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience operating powered industrial equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, stock pickers, etc., required.
• Ability to communicate well both verbally with internal customers and management.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to follow guidelines, work in a team environment, and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Completes work on the production floor in assigned areas such as selecting, loading, inventory, and inspection.
• Performs quality checks on products, cases, and pallets to ensure proper procedures are followed.
• Verifies accuracy of orders, inventory, and cases.
• Monitors products and orders for damage.
• Trains new hires in the areas of production.
• Provides additional training as required and covers other tasks as needed.

Primary Responsibilities

The Associate,WarehouseOperationsV roleoperatesin leadershipcapacityresponsiblefor supportingsupervisorsand managers inthe successfulperformanceof the department. This includestrainingnewemployees,addressingsafety, quality,and inventory needsthat arise.Thisrolewill require you to work in any department on the production floorand provide coverage wherever needed. Essential Functions

DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Completes work based on department/area of production floor they are responsibleforsuch as but not limited toselecting, loading, inventory, loading and unloading product, inspection, pallets, etc.
• Performs quality checks on products, cases, and pallets to ensure warehouse associates are completing tasks and following proper procedures.
• Verifies accuracy of orders, inventory, and cases.
• Monitors products and orders to check for any damage.
• Trains new hiresinthe areasof production they are assigned to.
• Supportsadditionaltraining for associates asrequired
• Prepares andsubmitsdocumentation.
• Communicates withsupervisors/managerswithin the warehouse and other departmentsas needed toassistwith answering any questions on orders, inventory, etc.
• Steps in andassistswith anyjob at the warehouse or where coverage is needed.
• Addresses any issues, changes, and communicates themtotheir supervisor/manager.
• Maintains safe work practices.
• Maintains safeguards of confidential company information.
• Mustmaintaingood attendance.
• Other duties andprojectsassigned.

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or GED isrequired.
• Experienceoperatingpowered industrial equipment such asforklifts, pallet jacks, stock pickers, etc.,required.
• Ability to communicate well both verbally with internal customers and management.
• Ability to efficiently work independently of direct supervision.
• Ability tofollow guidelines,work in ateamenvironment,andadapt to changing priorities and goals.

PreferredSkillsand Aptitude:

• Lead and/or leadership experience in a warehouse environmentsupporting operational metrics
• Three+ years of experience in a food distribution or warehouseatmospherepreferred.
• Three+ years of experienceoperatingmultiple powered industrial equipment
• Forklift(s), pallet jacks, stock pickers, etc.
• Ability to becross trained inmultipleprocess paths and have exposure to complex tasks within the warehouse.
• Ability toassistwith daily activities including forklift operation, receiving, stowing, picking, packing, shipping, inventory management, and documentation of products to meet KeHE’s customer’s needs.
• Must have the ability tohave verbal and writtencommunicationwith internal customers and management.
• A qualified candidatemonitorsthe safety and security of goods and materials.
• Utilizes a warehouse management system (WMS) and other systems to track performance.
• Hasdemonstratedfullproficiencyin multiple critical warehouse departments and works under moderate supervision

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential warehouse functions of this job. Reasonableaccommodationmay be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must be able to lift, move, and carry 30-40 pounds repetitively upwards of 1,000 times per day. Must be able to lift, move, and carry larger items up to 75 pounds lessfrequently. The associate is frequently required to stand, walk,climband sit at times in the warehouse. While performing the duties of this position, the associate is subject to a warehouse environment where temperatures can vary from very cool to very warm. {Freezer temperatures: (-10 degrees) | Refrigerator temperature (25-35degrees).The associate is also exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise levels in the warehouse work environment are typically low to moderate.
