Job summary

J.B. Poindexter & Co., Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Associate to lead daily warehouse team activities and perform general duties to meet internal and external customer needs in Houston, Texas.

You will conduct quality control audits, manage inventory, assist shipping and receiving, and support lean initiatives while ensuring safety and orderly work areas. This role requires a high school diploma and prior warehouse experience.

• Basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to collaborate with a multi-department team.

Responsibilities

• Quality Control Audits of pick tickets and warehouse inventory.
• Yard audits and quality control of warehouse and yard inventory.
• Load and unload materials to/from racks, shelves, and vehicles.
• Pull and pick orders for any type of pick ticket.
• Stock all parts received by receiving agents.
• Assist in shipping and receiving administration as needed.
• Driving and/or staging trucks.
• Participate in cycle counts.
• Participate in 5S and LEAN initiatives.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Follow safety rules and standard operating procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Position Summary:

Lead warehouse team activities and perform general warehouse duties to meet needs of internal and external customers.

Position Responsibilities :

• Quality Control Audits of pick tickets and warehouse inventory
• Yard Audits and Quality Control of warehouse and yard inventory
• Load & unload materials to and from designated areas such as racks, shelves, and/or vehicles
• Pull and Pick orders for any type of pick ticket
• Stock all parts received by receiving agents
• Assist in shipping and receiving administration as needed
• Driving and/or staging trucks
• Participate in cycle counts
• Participate in 5S and LEAN initiatives
• Assist to maintain a clean & orderly work area
• Operate in conjunction with the organizational goals of the warehouse
• Follow all safety rules, such as safe work practices and standard operating procedures
• Other duties as assigned by management (may be assigned at any time)

Position Qualifications & Requirements:

Education:

• High School diploma or GED preferred

Experience:

• Prior experience as a Warehouse/Receiving Associate
• Manufacturing industry or background experience preferred

Supervisory responsibilities : None

Work environment :

• Routinely pick up and move heavy objects
• Frequent work in warehouse, internal and external in all-weather elements
• Must be able to wear required Personal Protective equipment (PPE)
