Job description

The Operations Team Lead is responsible for coordinating daily warehouse operations, supporting associates, and ensuring shipping, receiving, inventory, quality, and safety processes are completed efficiently. The role works under the direction of the Operations Supervisor and serves as a mentor and operational resource for the team.

Primary Responsibilities
Leadership & Training
  • Train and mentor new and existing associates.
  • Ensure employees follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist with forklift training and certification.
  • Support employee development and productivity.
Shipping & Receiving
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Verify shipping documentation and product counts.
  • Ensure accurate loading, unloading, picking, and staging of products.
  • Investigate and resolve shipping or receiving discrepancies.
Quality Control
  • Verify products are received and shipped accurately.
  • Inspect for damages and report discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper packaging, labeling, stacking, and shrink wrapping.
  • Follow all quality procedures and participate in quality meetings.
Customer Service
  • Maintain professional communication with customers and visitors.
  • Prepare operational reports for management.
  • Respond to customer inquiries as needed.
Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce safety procedures and company policies.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization.
  • Comply with OSHA, MSDS, ISO standards, and site-specific procedures.
  • Participate in safety meetings and promote a safe work environment.
Labor Management
  • Help direct daily warehouse operations.
  • Assist with productivity tracking and payroll hours.
  • Support scheduling and workforce planning.
  • Ensure associates meet productivity and quality expectations.il>
Equipment Operation
  • Safely operate material handling equipment, including:
    • Sit-down forklift
    • Stand-up forklift
    • Reach truck
    • Cherry picker
    • Scissor lift
    • Aisle Master
    • Pallet jack
    • Sweeper/scrubber
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance issues.
  • Maintain active forklift certification.
Administrative Duties
  • Assist with scheduling, filing, answering phones, and record keeping.
  • Work overtime, evenings, or weekends as business needs require.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment (MHE).
  • Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast‑paced environment.
