Job summary

Ryder Supply Chain Solutions in Dekalb, Illinois, is seeking a Permanent Full Time Inventory Clerk. The role involves warehouse duties such as loading, picking, packing, shipping, and forklift operation on the First Shift (Mon-Fri 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM).

Weekly pay with comprehensive benefits begins after 30 days, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) and PTO. Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills are valued, along with experience with RF scanners and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• One year or more powered industrial truck experience preferred
• One year or more previous experience as Team Lead preferred
• One year or more Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) preferred
• One year or more previous warehouse experience preferred
• Knowledge and/or experience with an RF scanner advanced required
• Valid forklift operator's license certified
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Effective leadership skills
• Possesses flexibility to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Performs work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent organizational skills
• Proactively approaches responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Lead and ensure continuous improvement efforts for optimal efficiency of the operations.
• Perform warehouse function, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting.
• Allocate resources and organize and distribute daily work duties to members to ensure optimal shift/team operational logistics.
• Inspire and guide team members towards improved KPI’s using the appropriate leadership styles and methods.
• Assist in proving appropriate orientation for employees and give them the necessary information, technology and tools to perform their jobs.
• Assist with promoting health and safety working methods within the warehouse.
• Deal with day to day paperwork in a warehouse environment (i.e. picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.).
• Complete and submit daily reports and propose action plans to enhance operations effectiveness and service levels.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
