Job summary

SanMar in Ashland, VA is seeking a Will Call Associate to assist customers by locating and loading orders quickly and accurately. You will load trailers safely, answer inquiries in person, by phone, or email, and keep the showroom organized.

The role emphasizes safety, accurate documentation, and friendly customer service while supporting daily warehouse operations and order fulfillment.

Responsibilities

• Operate internal systems that store customer information (High Jump, Ody).
• Answer customer inquiries over the phone, via email and in person.
• Offer substitutions and alternatives when out of stock.
• Prepare all outgoing USPS for daily pickup.
• Document information clearly in High Jump and/or Ody.
• Educate customers on the SanMar Difference and products.
• Solve problems and find best solutions for SanMar and customers.
• Return voicemails and emails within 24 hours.
• Maintain Health Screening Logs for vendors and visitors.
• Keep showroom and will-call area clean and organized.
• Research and enter errors for stats.
• Provide up-to-date and accurate information to customers and coworkers.
• Check out equipment and return in good condition.
• Maintain a safe, neat work area per safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all policies and standards.

Job description

Hours: Monday through Friday, 9:30am-6pm

Pay: $20.50

What's the Short Version?

A Will Call Associate must be able to listen to our customers; consistently meet and exceed their needs and expectations. Research, locate and load customer orders at a fast and accurate pace. Associates are required to safely and efficiently load trailers and other vehicles, depending on Ship Via, by manually lifting and stacking cases of product.

What Will You Be Doing?

• Operate internal systems that store customer information, such as High Jump and Ody.
• Answer customer inquiries over the phone, via email and in person.
• Offer comparable product substitutions and alternative locations when out of stock.
• Prepare all completed out going USPS for daily pick up.
• Document pertinent information clearly in High Jump and/or Ody.
• Educate customers on the SanMar Difference and products.
• Effectively solve problems and find the best solution for both SanMar and the customer.
• Return customer voice messages and e-mails within 24 hours.
• Maintain Health Screening Logs for vendors and visitors.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the showroom and will call area within the warehouse.
• Research and enter external and internal errors for stats.
• Offer up to date and accurate information to customers and co-workers.
• Responsible for checking out equipment and returning in same condition.
• Maintain safe, neat and clean work area by adhering to SanMar safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all policies and standards.

What Should You Expect?

DC Warehouse (Equipment): While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to 60 pounds. The employee operates powered equipment requiring use of both hands as well as full range of motion of the neck, head and back. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, grasp and perform repetitive hand, wrist and arm motions. The employee is frequently required to climb stairs, kneel/squat, bend and carry. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employee may be required to wear a headset covering one or both ears. Employee will be required to wear Personal protective equipment such as a Protective harness while operating equipment. Basic English literacy is required for operation of machines and necessary daily paperwork. Work environment is moderately noisy. The employee is occasionally required to work near conveyor systems. There is exposure to dust and changes in weather conditions. Work is performed under typical warehouse conditions. Potential hazards exist with regard to machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, mechanized systems, etc. Work environment is hectic and fast-paced.The employee is regularly exposed to ambient lighting and can be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold including climates consistent with outside weather conditions.
