We are seeking a dependable Box Sorter in West Sacramento, CA to manually process and sort boxes, inspect for quality, and palletize items to meet production goals in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Break down boxes that are not received in a broken-down state.
• Inspect boxes for damage and assess their suitability for reuse.

• Meet or exceed daily production requirements (at least one pallet per hour).
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Comply with PLA policies and safety rules.
• Assist with other duties to support team operations.

What You'll Be Doing:

As a Box Sorter, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Breaking down boxes that are not received in a broken-down state.
• Inspecting boxes for damage and assessing their suitability for reuse.
• Slickening boxes acceptable for reuse by covering their barcodes.
• Palletizing sorted boxes efficiently by size.
• Meeting or exceeding daily production requirements, with a standard expectation of at least one pallet per hour.
• Maintaining a clean and orderly work area throughout the shift.
• Complying with all PLA policies and procedures, as well as federal and state safety rules.
• Assisting with other duties as assigned to support and improve overall team operations.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and lift for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Capable of repeatedly handling, lifting, and moving boxes of varying sizes and weights.
• Requires good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for breaking down, inspecting, and stickering boxes.
• Ability to hear and understand verbal instructions and safety alarms in a warehouse environment.
• Good vision for inspecting boxes and performing sorting tasks accurately.

Work Environment:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will primarily work in a warehouse environment. This may include exposure to dust, fluctuating temperatures (hot and cold), and moderate noise levels. Steel-toed boots and other personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.
