Job summary

GEODIS in Northampton, PA is seeking a Warehouse Forklift Service Technician II to diagnose and repair forklift equipment on-site. You will follow maintenance procedures, document service calls, and ensure safety and cleanliness of work areas while supporting inventory and tools in the company vehicle.

The role requires 3–5 years of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic experience, forklift repair expertise, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment experience.
• Experience repairing forklifts.
• Technical or mechanical training/certifications preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to understand service manuals and schematics.
• Operate power tools, lifts, hoists, hydraulic jacks and overhead cranes safely.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and diagnose equipment problems and breakdowns.
• Recommend service and repair actions to resolve performance problems.
• Perform repairs or modifications to solve operational issues.
• Follow scheduled maintenance procedures and company policies.
• Document each service call with required paperwork.
• Observe safety procedures and dispose of hazardous waste properly.
• Maintain service vehicles, performing routine maintenance like oil changes and tire rotations.
• Secure and maintain inventory in the service vehicle.
• Provide well-maintained personal tools for equipment service duties.
• Keep the work area clean and hazard-free.
• Perform other duties as required and assigned.

Your role on the team:

• Analyzes and diagnoses equipment problems and breakdowns
• Recommends the correct service and repair actions to resolve equipment performance problems
• Makes appropriate equipment repairs or modifications to solve operating and performance problems as dictated by the analysis of the equipment
• Follows all scheduled maintenance procedures and policies as dictated by the company
• Documents each service call, providing necessary paperwork
• Observes all safety procedures, makes certain that hazardous waste is properly disposed
• Maintains the company service vehicles in a clean, orderly and hazard-free manner to include performing regular maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, etc.
• Secures and maintains service and parts inventory in the company service vehicle
• Provides well-maintained personal tools required to effectively perform equipment service duties
• Keeps the work area clean and hazard-free
• Other duties as required and assigned

What you need:

• High school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency
• Minimum 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training with mechanical, electrical and hydraulic equipment
• Experience with repairing forklifts
• Technical or mechanical training/certifications preferred
• Possesses a valid driver’s license
• Ability to understand the necessary service and training manuals, including the ability to interpret schematics and effectively use electrical diagnostic instruments
• Can safely operate power tools, lifts, hoists, hydraulic jacks and overhead cranes
