Job summary

Gildan is seeking a Warehouse - Forklift Operator I High Reach for the Martinsville, VA facility. This role handles order fulfillment, turret truck operations, and shipping preparation on the 1st shift.

Candidates must be willing to ride a turret truck up to 40 feet, navigate very narrow aisles, unload and palletize cases, and scan items to pallets. High school diploma or GED required; Maloney responsibilities apply at the Martinsville location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Willing and capable of riding a turret truck 40 feet in the air on a regular basis.
• Willing and capable of driving a turret truck in very narrow aisles.

Responsibilities

• Perform order fulfillment in any warehouse area, including operation of a turret truck.
• Unloading and palletizing cases at receiving and sortation.
• Picking, shipping preparation, and staging completed cases for shipment.
• Scan and move palletized cases using manual pallet jack or powered forklift.
• Deliver to P&D stations and ship to belt as required.

Forklift Operator High Reach 1st Shift

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

• PERFORMS ANY ORDER FULFILLMENT WORK REQUIRED, IN ANY WAREHOUSE FLOOR AREA, INCLUDING OPERATION OF OPERATOR-UP
• WIRE GUIDED TURRET TRUCK FULLY CROSS-TRAINED AND QUALIFIED FOR ACCOUNTABILITY ON ALL WORK FUNCTIONS IN SPECIFIED AREAS

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• MUST BE WILLING AND CAPABLE OF RIDING THE TURRET TRUCK 40 FEET IN THE AIR ON A REGULAR BASIS.
• MUST BE WILLING AND CAPABLE OF DRIVING THE TURRET TRUCK IN VERY NARROW AISLE.
• UNLOADING CASES AT RECEIVING.
• PALLETIZING CASES AT SORTATION.
• SCANNING CASES TO PALLETS.
• MOVING PALLETIZED CASES WITH MANUAL PALLET JACK.
• MOVING PALLETIZED CASES WITH POWERED FORKLIFT.
• PICKING UP PALLETS OF CASES FROM VERY-NARROW-AISLE (VNA) PICKUP AND DELIVERY (P&D) STATIONS WITH TURRET TRUCK AND LOCATING IN VERY-NARROW-AISLE PALLET RACKS.
• PULLING PALLETS OF CASES FROM VNA RACKS, USING TURRET TRUCK, AND DELIVERING TO P&D STATIONS.
• PICKING CASES AT CASE AS/RS AREA, AND SHIPPING PICK-TO-BELT.
• SHIPPING PREPARATORY WORK.
• STAGING AND LOADING COMPLETED CASES AND PALLETS AT SHIPPING.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

• HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED
