Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming product, verify against packing slips or purchase orders, and enter receipts into the system.
  • Pick, pull, allocate, and stage materials for orders, transfers, or deliveries.
  • Package, label, shrink wrap, box, and prepare products for shipping or customer pick-up.
  • Ship products using national carriers, company vehicles, or other approved transportation options.
  • Perform local pick-up and delivery of orders, parts, supplies, and other materials as needed.
  • Load and unload delivery vehicles safely and secure materials during transport.
  • Communicate delivery updates and issues to branch leadership and other departments.
  • Operate warehouse equipment, including RF scanners and forklifts, per safety requirements.
  • Assist with inventory control activities, including cycle counts and discrepancy identification.

Job description

Responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations, including receiving, stocking, picking, packing, staging, shipping, inventory control, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. This role also performs local pick-up and delivery of customer orders, parts, supplies, and other materials as needed to support branch operations and customer service.

Primary Duties:
  • Receive incoming product, verify accuracy against packing slips or purchase orders, and enter receipts into the appropriate system.
  • Pick, pull, allocate, and stage materials for customer orders, transfers, production needs, or deliveries.
  • Package, label, shrink wrap, box, and prepare products for shipping or customer pick-up.
  • Ship products using appropriate methods, including national carriers, company delivery vehicles, customer vehicles, or other approved transportation options.
  • Perform local pick-up and delivery of orders, parts, supplies, and other materials to and from customers, vendors, company locations, and job sites.
  • Load and unload delivery vehicles safely; secure materials to prevent damage during transport.
  • Communicate customer instructions, delivery updates, product issues, or service concerns to branch leadership, sales, or other appropriate departments.
  • Operate warehouse equipment, including RF scanners and forklifts, as required and in accordance with company safety requirements.
  • Assist with inventory control activities, including cycle counts, product location accuracy, and identification of discrepancies.
  • Maintain the company vehicle in a clean and safe operating condition and coordinate required service, maintenance, or inspections with the appropriate contact.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse, shipping area, and work environment.
  • Collaborate with branch personnel, sales, production, and other departments to support customer satisfaction and timely order fulfillment.
  • Comply with all company rules, safety regulations, policies, and procedures.

Experience and Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior warehouse, shipping/receiving, inventory, customer service, or delivery experience preferred.
  • Must be 21 and have a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and ability to meet company driving requirements.
  • Forklift experience or certification is preferred, or the ability to complete required training.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely and in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse processes, including receiving, stocking, order picking, packing, staging, shipping, and inventory control.
  • Ability to safely load, unload, move, and secure materials for storage, shipment, customer pick-up, or delivery.
  • Must possess basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), with a willingness to learn new software programs. Experience with Epicor Prophet 21 is a plus.
  • Ability to read and differentiate alpha/numeric characters and maintain strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and internal team members.
  • Mechanical background and forklift certification, if required by location or state, are a plus.
  • Ability to follow strict safety guidelines and maintain awareness of surroundings in warehouse, traffic, customer, and job site environments.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The essential functions of this position will require the employee to perform the following physical activities:

  • Frequent use of office and warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move materials up to 70 lbs.
  • Regular standing and walking on cement flooring; bending, reaching, climbing ladders.
  • Work environments may include warehouses, offices, manufacturing sites, and customer facilities with varying temperatures and conditions.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a good standard driving record.
