Job summary

Bluegrass Ingredients, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse employee to perform receiving, shipping, inventory, and loading tasks in our Kentucky facility. The role requires operating dock equipment, maintaining records, and ensuring a clean, safe work environment.

You will follow GMPs, participate in safety training, and be prepared to work varying shifts with overtime as needed. This is a hands-on position emphasizing reliability and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Maintain records for receiving ingredients and supplies, and for shipping production.
• Verify trailer is clean and load-ready.
• Operate dock doors and leveler.
• Verify bills of ladings and pickup numbers.
• Learn to and make up loads per customer orders.
• Maintain and operate a forklift.
• Perform accurate monthly inventories.
• Transfer ingredients and supplies as needed.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
• Comply with GMPs, safety rules and work rules.
• Address any food safety hazards or quality threats and notify supervisor or Quality/Leadership as needed.
• Attend all required safety and food safety training.
• Clean cheese frames as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Including, but not limited to, the following:

1. Maintain records for receiving of ingredients and supplies, etc. and for shipping of production on cheese, whey and other finished goods.
2. Verify trailer is clean and fit to load and unload.
3. Operate dock doors and leveler.
4. Verify bill of ladings and pick-up numbers.
5. Learn to and make up loads for all departments per customer orders.
6. Maintain and operate a forklift
7. Perform accurate monthly inventories.
8. Transfer ingredients and supplies as needed.
9. Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
10. Complies with plant regulations concerning GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), safety rules and work rules, and loss control procedures.
11. Responsible for identifying and addressing any food safety hazards and quality threats. In the event that a food safety hazard or quality threat is identified, the employee is to notify their supervisor, a member of Quality, or a member of the Leadership Team. Employees are empowered to immediately address a food safety hazard or quality threat if they have the ability.
12. Responsible for attending all required safety and food safety training.
13. Responsible for cleaning of cheese frames as needed.
14. Perform any and all duties as assigned by supervisor.

ACCOUNTABILITY

In the absence of the Warehouse employee, the Warehouse Manager will schedule another trained warehouse worker.

OTHER PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS:

Physical Demands:

Standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, kneeling, reaching, twisting, lifting, climbing ladders and stairs, and carrying up to 85 pounds.

Environmental Demands:

Noise levels above 85 DBA. Hot and cold working conditions.

Job Hazards:

Caustics, acids, chlorine, ammonia, high pressure steam and water, hot equipment, trucks fork lifts, conveyers, mechanical hazards, slick or wet floors, confined space entry, elevated work areas on platforms, and equipment above 10 feet.
