  • Perform duties in accordance with all company policies.

Job Location: UNITED STATES SUGAR MANUFACTURING

SUMMARY

Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, this position is staffed year around by three rotating shifts and requires periodic overtime, to include nights, weekends, and holidays. Incumbent will work independently or in a team environment while safely and efficiently performing all warehouse activities to include; shipping, receiving, storing, issuing, and transporting a wide variety of inventory materials, using heavy equipment and physical labor.

FUNCTIONS
  • Abide by all Company policies outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Successfully participate in and complete all training sessions, safety classes, pre-shift meetings, or certifications related to the position.
  • Using a computerized inventory system, receive shipments and verify materials against the bill of lading/packing list, report shipment discrepancies to Warehouse Supervisor/Manager, and complete required forms to approve the shipment for payment.
  • Label and store received material in the proper location, verifying inventory quantity as required in the documentation of material movement in the warehouse.
  • Conduct regular physical inspections of material as required for Lay-up Maintenance or Shelf-life Program. Conduct periodic inventory cycle counts and physical inventories using bar code scanners as directed.
  • Assemble kits from inventory per requisition, stage materials as defined by Work Order materials requirements, and prepare material for shipment or transfers to other storage locations.
  • Monitor personnel traffic in and out of the warehouse, challenging persons not authorized access to warehouse spaces, and reporting suspicious personnel or behavior to Warehouse Supervisor/Manager. Ensures that physical security barriers (doors, gates, etc.) are secure at all times.
  • Moves/relocate materials as required using hand truck, forklift, vehicle, or other means.
  • Practice proper housekeeping by keeping warehouse spaces clean and walkways/aisles clear of materials or refuse at all times.
  • Responsibly drive Company vehicles while abiding all State and Local laws.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have positive results from Company-designated tests designed to measure basic skills, job skills, mechanical aptitude and/or other interests, skills and characteristics.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older and have a good work record and disciplinary history.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Class E Florida Driver’s License or above.
  • Applicant must be able to read, write and speak the English language in order to comprehend instructions on the job, over the radio, and in the classroom, and to ensure personal and co-worker safety on the work site.
  • New hires must pass a drug test and other pre-employment background screening, and successfully complete any required training or orientation course.
  • Must possess basic computer skills and an aptitude for working with, and interpreting, graphics related to measurements, parts requisitions, diagrams, and digital photo sharing.
  • Demonstrate the physical ability to perform the essential functions of the job. Applicant must be in good health and physically able to perform all phases of the work.
  • Applicant must have colored vision and the use of both hands to be able to identify and manipulate color-coded materials.
  • Must be capable of obtaining forklift certification within 30 days as necessary.
  • Must be able to read and apply measurements using measuring tapes, scales, and other tools.
WORKING CONDITIONS

45% of the work environment is conducted in an indoor environment, with or without environmental controls, with prolonged standing, walking on concrete floors, routinely reaching overhead with up to 25 lbs. loads, occasionally pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs., occasionally lifting up to 75 lbs., and regularly looking upwards. Will be exposed to heights and loud noise, requiring PPE (i.e.: hard hat, goggles, hair net, and/or ear plugs). Will regularly kneel, bend or twist at the waist, stoop, and climb ladders or stairs. Will occasionally work from raised platforms.

40% of the work environment is conducted while in an open outdoor environment, exposed to variable/extreme weather, reduced visibility, blowing dust and particles, and moving machinery, while continuously climbing on and off equipment; reaching forward or twisting at the waist while seated; looking behind without aid of mirrors; pushing brooms; lifting, carrying, and stacking 50 lbs at a height of 5 ft. Will regularly handle caustic materials.

15% of the work environment will be conducted while operating a motor vehicle.
