Job summary

LKQ Corp is hiring for a warehouse associate in Omaha, NE. Starting pay is $19/hour. Duties include pulling parts for routes, forklift operations, loading and unloading vehicles, and ensuring accurate inventory with DOT compliance.

Qualified candidates will have at least 6 months in warehousing, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to meet DOT safety requirements. Benefits include Health/Dental/Vision Insurance, 401k, PTO, and more.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of related warehouse experience.
• Must have a valid driver's license and safe driving record.
• Must qualify for Corporate insurance programs, including vehicle insurance.
• Must meet DOT/FMCSA testing and physical requirements and be knowledgeable of DOT regulations.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must comply with state and local mandated requirements as well as DOT/FMCSA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Receives labels from supervisor for parts to pull for the assigned route.
• Pulls parts and/or PBE products from bins and delivers to staging area for loading.
• Operates forklift or order selector to transport parts in warehouse.
• Loads truck or company vehicle according to delivery schedule and checks parts loaded.
• Sorts and places parts on racks or bins per predetermined sequence.
• Responds to customer counter sales by taking orders, pulling products and loading into customer vehicle.
• Verifies in-stock position for inside sales staff.

Essential Job Duties

• Receives labels from the supervisor for parts (may include PBE product) to be pulled for the assigned route.
• Pulls parts and/or PBE products from the appropriate bins and delivers them to the staging area for loading.
• Operates a forklift or order selector to transport parts in and about the warehouse.
• Loads truck or company vehicle according to the delivery schedule and performs a final check-off of parts loaded.
• Sorts and places parts and supplies on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence.
• Respond to customer counter sales immediately by receiving orders, pulling products and loading them into the customer vehicle.
• Verifies in-stock position on product for inside sales staff.
• Drives a company box truck or company vehicle to deliver salvage parts and/or PBE products to customer locations.
• Physically loads truck or company vehicle at the branch and verifies the condition of the truck or company vehicle, manifest and other paperwork associated with deliveries to be made.
• Drives to the delivery destination and physically unloads truck or company vehicle and verifies parts unloaded. Picks up returned parts and/or PBE products and collects customer payments as necessary.
• Assume other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Not responsible for supervising employees.

Basic Qualifications

• 6+ months of related warehouse experience.
• Possess a valid driver's license and safe driving record.
• Must qualify for Corporate insurance programs, including vehicle insurance.
• Must meet Department of Transportation (DOT) testing and physical requirements and be knowledgeable of DOT regulations.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must comply with state and local mandated requirements as well as Department of Transportation("DOT") and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration("FMCSA") regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• Forklift certification/experience and knowledge of RF scanners are helpful.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Basic computer skills.
• Regularly uses moderately complex oral and written skills. May train others in functional areas, interact with others and make presentations to department or middle management.
• Problems encountered are routine, somewhat repetitive and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures.
• Decisions generally affect one's own job or assigned functional area.
• Results are defined and existing practices are used as guidelines for how to complete work activities; works closely with supervisor/manager who provides broad guidance and overall direction.
• Assignments/priorities provided by supervisor/manager.

Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to drive a vehicle most of the time.
• Must be able to sit and drive for extended periods (up to 12 hours at a time); use hands to operate machinery.
• May need to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended periods.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• Frequent exposure to contaminants such as fuel or exhaust. May occasionally wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
• May need to work in cramped spaces that could require getting into awkward positions.
• May be exposed to extreme temperatures, extreme lighting, and high noise levels.
• Daily travel will be required by drivers making deliveries and extensive overnight travel may be required.
