Job summary

McCormick & Company, Incorporated's French's Food Company in Springfield, MO, is seeking a full-time Crew Leader for the 2nd shift (Mon Fri 14:30-23:00) to lead the distribution center team and ensure performance against cost, quality, inventory, safety and GMPs.

Under the Distribution Center Team Manager, you will coach staff, train on procedures, monitor KPIs, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining compliance and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of manufacturing and/or industrial experience.
• Demonstrated ability to understand financial impact of staffing, product components and inventory.
• Demonstrated computer skills, including Excel, Word, statistical databases & Lotus Notes.
• Ability to coach, train and influence while respecting people.
• Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking skills for risk assessment.

2nd shift: Shift Monday - Friday 14:30-23:00

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Through the direction of the Distribution Center Team Manager, the Crew Leader ensures overall performance of the team to meet objectives for scorecard metrics and OGSM’s for cost, quality assurance, inventory control, HazMat shipping compliance and training (ground, air, ocean), safety, sanitation, service, sustainability, organizational health, GMPs, and distribution reliability.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensures overall performance of the team to include quality, safety, reliability, waste and sanitation to achieve business goals.
• Pro-actively encourages continuous improvement and daily problem solving initiatives to increase operational effectiveness and efficiencies.
• Coaches, trains, and ensures compliance to plant established procedures (including work rule, safety and sanitation guidelines) while demonstrating a deep respect for the capabilities of all people.
• Ensures that all activities follow documented operating procedures and recommends updates to existing procedures as required.
• Determines needs and conducts training required for new & existing employees.
• Perform job tasks of other team members of jobs of equal or lower grades.
• Facilitates teamwork and coaching among team members.
• Holds meetings for distribution tracking, problem solving and team development.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years of manufacturing and/or industrial experience required.
• Demonstrated ability to understand financial impact of business decisions affecting staffing, product components and inventory required.
• Demonstrated computer skills, including knowledge of Excel, Word, statistical database applications & Lotus Notes required.
• Demonstrated ability to pro-actively encourage continuous improvement and daily problem solving initiatives required.
• Proven ability to coach, train and influence while demonstrating a deep respect for the capabilities of all people required.
• Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills required
• Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking skills to determine risk assessment required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of SAP, Infinity, Power Point, Access preferred.
• Demonstrated practice of leadership principles required and formal leadership training strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated competency to operate all equipment in the business strongly preferred.
• Experience effectively leading and facilitating team and cross-functional meetings strongly preferred.
