Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Abilene, TX is seeking an on-site Warehouse Associate to manage material care, receiving and shipping tasks in support of construction field activities.

You will perform inventory control, operate forklifts, prepare shipments, verify paperwork and maintain safety standards while adapting to weather and overtime as needed. The role requires attention to detail, ability to lift, stand for extended periods, and clear communication with supervisors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or suitable experience.
• Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions; communicate with supervision.

Responsibilities

• Select and prepare daily shipments, including pulling orders and paperwork.
• Palletize, wrap, and deliver orders to shipping areas or disciplines.
• Assist in loading/unloading items from trailers as needed.
• Inspect items for damage or shorts; identify incorrect items.
• Pack/unpack stock items and label appropriately.
• Maintain onsite warehouse inventories and restock backorders.
• Resolve inventory discrepancies and document material shorts.
• Ensure shipping/receiving documents are accurate and timely.
• Operate forklift/related equipment as required.

Job description

Position Summary

Perform onsite Material care, custody and control functions in support of construction field activities. Carry out day to day activities of the warehouse department, which can include shipping and receiving or products and materials, issuing tools, documentation and inventory control

Experience Level

Primary Responsibilities And Duties

• Selects and prepares daily shipments which may includes pulling orders, packaging, and completing freight/invoice paperwork for freight carriers
• Palletizes and wraps skids and delivers completed orders and packages to designated shipping area and/or deliver to disciplines
• Assists in loading trucks as necessary and unloads received items from trailers
• Examines and inspects items for damage and defects; identifies incorrect/short shipped items
• Packs, unpacks, and marks stock items, using identification labels and stickers
• Perform onsite Warehouse inventories, maintenance and restocking, fill backorders and product bins
• May assist in resolving inventory discrepancies and document material shorts
• Ensure all shipping/receiving documents are completed accurately and on time
• May operate forklift and other equipment – stand‑up lift, sit‑down lift, propane, scissor, etc

Qualifications

• May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Must possess working knowledge skills and abilities for position.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safe and efficiently.

• Must have all required tools
• Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 200 ft)
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.
