Job summary

Steel Dynamics, Inc. in Indiana is seeking an entry-level Warehouse Associate to assist employees and contractors, issue and receive parts, track inventory, and support daily warehouse tasks on a first-shift schedule.

This role is office-adjacent to the shop floor and requires teamwork to keep operations running smoothly. The ideal candidate will have a strong safety mindset, the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment, and good multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Staff the warehouse counter
• Accept deliveries and check-in/stock into locations
• Pick parts and issue to departments
• Perform cycle-counts
• Assist employees and contractors as customers
• Investigate discrepancies
• Operate crane and forklift
• Provide vacation coverage as needed
• Other tasks assigned by manager/supervisor

Assist employees and contractors in finding parts. Issuing parts, receiving, cycle counting, and tracking warehouse inventory. M-F days schedule This is an entry level position.

• Staff the warehouse counter
• Accept deliveries, check-in products/place into proper stocking locations
• Pick parts
• Issue parts to appropriate departments
• Perform cycle-count
• Assist employees and contractors as "customers"
• Investigate descrepancies
• Operate crane and forklift
• Vacation coverage for coworkers (may include swint shift when necessary)
• Other tasks assigned by manager/supervisor

Required

• A strong focus on safety
• Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment
• Strong mulittasking skills
• Self-starter
• Must be physically able to lift heavy parts

Preferred

• Knowledge of CMMS Inventory Systems, Excel and Outlook software
• Crane and/or forklift certified
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and/or welding replacement parts
