Job summary

TAS Energy in Houston, TX seeks an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead material handling, inventory control, and process improvements. You will train staff, enforce safety, and ensure accurate ERP/WMS transactions while supporting shipping/receiving and cycle counts.

The role requires strong English communication, forklift operation, and 5+ years manufacturing experience with 3+ years in supervision. Lean/Kaizen involvement and Power BI exposure are valued.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma.
  • 5+ years manufacturing experience.
  • 3+ years supervisory experience.
  • Must be able to read and interpret safety rules and procedures.
  • Proficient with ERP systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize workload within the warehouse.
  • Maintain training records for all employees.
  • Identify and address safety hazards in the work area.
  • Train new warehouse employees in material handling and identification.
  • Assist shipping/receiving, unload trucks with forklift or crane, check in merchandise and distribute to sales associates.
  • Stock material physically and electronically into proper bin locations.
  • Participate in Lean/Kaizen and other Operational Excellence initiatives.
  • Transact customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to move items.
  • Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.
  • Open bales, crates, and containers.
  • Assist in routine cycle counts of inventory.
  • Weigh and count items to ensure conformance to standards.
  • Record transactions via ERP/WMS systems.
  • Help implement process improvements and train personnel.
  • Create work instructions for training purposes.
  • Collaborate with other departments on process improvements.
  • Monitor and report KPI’s to management, identify gaps.
  • Sweep, dust, mop and maintain an organized workspace.
  • Identify layout changes needed, physically and systematically.
  • Document purchase orders or work orders, part numbers, and projects on incoming/outgoing items.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by TAS.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Prioritize workload within the warehouse.Maintain training records for all employees.Identify and address all safety hazards within the work areaTrain new warehouse employees in material handling and identification.Assist shipping and receiving, unload trucks with forklift or crane, check in merchandise, match purchase orders to sales orders and distribute to sales associates for processing.Accurately stock material physically and electronically into proper warehouse bin locations.Participate in Lean/Kaizen, Black Belt, and other Operational Excellence initiatives.Read and accurately transact customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.Ensure the warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.Open bales, crates, and other containers. Assist in routine cycle counting of inventory. Weighing and counting items to ensure conformance to company standards.Record transactional amounts of materials or items received issued via appropriate ERP & Warehouse Management Systems transaction.Help implement process improvement initiatives and train warehouse personnel as needed.Assist in the creation of work instructions for training purposes.Collaborate with other departments to address process improvement initiatives.Monitors and report team KPI’s to upper management, identifying opportunities and process gaps.Sweep, dust and mop and always organize warehouse and work area for orderliness.Identifies warehouse layout changes need, both physically and systematically.Document Purchase Orders or Work Order, Part Numbers, and Projects on all incoming/ outgoing items.Any other duties as assigned by TAS.JOB SKILLS:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to drive forklift.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Must be computer literate.Analytical and detail oriented.Strong communication skills to work with warehouse employees, peers, leadership, and cross functional departments.EDUCATION & TRAINING:High school diplomaMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:5+ years of related manufacturing experience3+ years of supervisory experienceMust have a good command of the English language, both written and verbalComputer knowledge includes warehouse ERP systems and MS Office software.PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:Lean Manufacturing or Greenbelt experience.Dashboard, Metrics or Power BI experience.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:Work performed in a shop environment.Exposed to any number of elements but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable.Requires normal vision and absence of color blindnessPhysical effort equal to frequent moving of up to 50lbs materials.Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach.The use of Safety Glasses is required.The use of earplugs is recommended.Ability to stand up to 10 hours a day (with lunch in between) and up to 6 days a week.Ability to work in a non-air-conditioned environment.Steel-toe boots required in Manufacturing FacilityCOMPANY OVERVIEW:Join a team driven to excel in all that we do!
