Qualifications

  • High school diploma and 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, QADEE, VQAD, MFGPRO and operating industrial tools.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise warehouse operations for efficiency and customer focus.
  • Keep QADEE up to date to ensure orders are picked and packed timely.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and adjust to meet dealer needs.
  • Forecast demand and place timely orders to match inventory.
  • Coordinate trailers, drivers, and shipment schedules for on-time deliveries.
  • Assist with shipping/receiving and counting to ensure accuracy.
  • Provide coaching to improve team performance.

A Brief Summary Of This Position

The Warehouse Coordinator will provide supervision around the warehouse operations to ensure efficient and customer-oriented outcomes. The incumbent is responsible for day-to-day inventory decisions and will consult with managers and co-workers when making decisions. The Warehouse Coordinator will determine inventory levels, assess future demand and backorder needs, promote new products and identify new business opportunities. The incumbent will coordinate outbound logistics by scheduling trailers and working with drivers and carriers to ensure customer shipments are dispatched accurately and on time. In addition, the incumbent will provide support in the warehouse reviewing, counting, and ensuring inventory accuracy, assisting with shipping and receiving duties as well as preparing orders. The incumbent will provide coaching and mentoring to achieve higher levels of performance and overall job satisfaction.

Essential Functions
  • Provides supervision of warehouse operations to ensure efficiency and customer-oriented focus.
  • Ensure QADEE is updated and accurate to allow for orders are picked and packed in a timely fashion.
  • Ensuring inventory management is accurate, adjusted as needed so dealers' needs are met.
  • Analysis of current and future needs and timely ordering of items.
  • Provide constantly changing forecasts for demand with the ability to match inventory to demand.
  • Responsible and providing oversite for cycle counting and monitoring/cleaning up of Inbound areas.
  • Develop partnerships with dealers and other Valmont personnel to establish future needs and grow business.
  • Ensures special orders and back orders are completed.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate trailers, drivers, and shipment schedules to ensure accurate, on-time customer deliveries.
  • Operate industrial equipment and tools (i.e., forklifts, crimping tools) in a safe manner.
  • Provide coaching as needed for employee growth.
  • This position reports into the Distribution Center Manager.
Other Important Details About The Role
  • Partner with Warehouse Manager for appropriate logistics needs.
  • Communicate with other distribution centers to ensure customer service is at exceptional levels.
Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
  • High school diploma and 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proven ability to communicate on all levels both internally and externally.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, QADEE, VQAD, MFGPRO.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Proven ability to operate industrial equipment and tools.
Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications
  • Associates degree preferred.
  • Previous logistics experience with LTL and delivery truck shipments.
Working Environment and Physical Efforts

Work is typically performed in an office setting with time spent in the warehouse. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. No travel requirements for this position. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
