Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America is seeking a Warehouse Lead to guide the night shift in our Minnesota facilities. You will coordinate the warehouse and cooler team, ensure accurate product movement, and uphold inventory controls to meet daily goals and customer expectations.

The role requires leadership experience in warehouse settings, strong communication, and the ability to adapt to evolving workloads. This is a full-time on-site position with a focus on GMP compliance and efficient operation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 4 years of warehouse, distribution, production, or related experience with leadership attributes or team lead experience.
  • Certification and/or License - forklift or related work certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate the daily schedule at start of shift with the warehouse/cooler team and delegate tasks.
  • Proactively communicate issues to supervision and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain knowledge of warehouse/shipping documents and complete forms accurately.
  • Meet or exceed production demands by moving product accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain organization and rotation of stock in coolers and warehouse.
  • Monitor KPIs and adjust operations to optimize labor use.
  • Verify incoming/outgoing orders against invoices and shipping docs.
  • Assist in training and development of warehouse staff and certify equipment as needed.
  • Perform inventories and audits as required.
  • Assess staffing and material needs to ensure supply availability.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of facilities and equipment; propose upgrades as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment and optimize space utilization.
  • Follow GMPs and food safety/quality/sanitation requirements; report quality issues.

GENERAL PURPOSE

Job Duties And Responsibilities
  • Communicate the daily schedule at start of shift with the warehouse/cooler team, detailing the workload requirements of the day and delegating/participating to successfully accomplish the daily tasks
  • Proactively communicate warehouse issues, including those involving deficiencies, to warehouse supervision; look for continuous improvement/process improvement opportunities
  • Possess a complete knowledge of all warehouse and shipping and receiving documents, accurately completing all necessary paper and electronic forms in a timely manner
  • Consistently meet or exceed production demands and needs by moving product accurately and efficiently
  • Maintain organization, rotation of stock, and neatness of all coolers and warehouse
  • Monitor KPI's and make daily operational adjustments as needed; ensure effective utilization of labor
  • Ensure that incoming and outgoing orders are verified against vendor’s invoices, bills of lading, customer orders, and similar documentation
  • Assist in the training and development of warehouse/cooler employees, including certifying employees on equipment as needed
  • Perform daily, monthly, and end-of-year inventories; perform or assist with audits
  • Assess staffing and materials to ensure supplies are adequate
  • Ensure proper maintenance of the warehouse facilities, equipment, and supplies; recommend equipment requirements and replacements to supervisor to upgrade and maintain warehouse productivity and efficiency
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization
  • Follow all DFA GMP's and work in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements. Inform QA personnel of any quality issues

SCHEDULE

Full time 3rd Shift Friday - Monday 6:30pm - 5:00am

Education And Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 4 years of warehouse, distribution, production, or related experience coupled with demonstrated leadership attributes or team lead experience
  • Certification and/or License - may require forklift, walk behind jack, or other related work certifications
