Job summary

IKEA USA in Perryville, MD is hiring a full-time Warehouse Associate to support daily DC operations—picking, packing, shipping, receiving, replenishment and storing with a focus on accuracy and customer service.

Requires at least 1 year of related warehouse experience, ability to lift up to 70 lbs, and English fluency. Shift is Sunday to Wednesday, 4:00pm–2:30am. Pay rate is $19.00 per hour. Benefits and growth opportunities are included.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Warehouse and forklift experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Reach excellence in daily DC operations for picking, packing, shipping, receiving and replenishment.
• Manage goods handling with focus on accuracy, safety and efficiency.
• Unload inbound/outbound goods and secure merchandise for movement.
• Support with workload analysis and daily volume handling during seasonal peaks.
• Document damages and participate in assigned tasks and projects.

What you'll be doing day to day

• Reach excellence in the daily running of different parts of the DC Operations by assuming major responsibility for picking, packing, shipping, receiving, replenishment and storing with the customer in focus.
• Manage picking, packing, shipping, receiving, replenishment and storing of the goods. Contribute with ideas and inputs to the agreed goals of the action plan in the daily work.
• Effectively unload and handle inbound/outbound goods. Secure merchandise properly to allow for safe movement through the distribution center.
• Contribute to the overall warehouse operations goals setting, drive the implementation of local business plans/projects and analyze existing workload to secure daily volume handling and meet seasonal fluctuation needs.
• Remove and properly document all damages found or caused on inbound/outbound merchandise.
• Assume responsibility for other tasks and projects assigned, where applicable.
