Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift to load/unload trucks and semis.
• Book shipments via UPS, LTL, or hot shot using computer systems.
• Log parts movements in Motorbase for ship/receive activities.
• Audit inventory accuracy during receiving and stocking.
• Notify purchasing when stock nears reorder points.
• Complete tasks and required paperwork in a timely manner.
• Follow health and safety guidelines when handling parts/equipment.
• Assist with purchasing of office supplies or shop materials.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Warehouse Clerk to join our team in Indianapolis, IN at our Large Motor shop facility.

Job Summary:

The Warehouse Clerk is responsible for receiving goods in, picking material for jobs, notifying purchaser of low stock items, keeping storeroom area neat and tidy, and loading and unloading trucks with a fork truck. The Warehouse Clerk will occasionally be responsible for some purchasing and local pickups and deliveries. The ideal candidate should be ambitious, detail oriented, able to work independently, and be able to think critically.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Receive in parts and pallets
• Sweeping, picking up parts, and organizing to keep the storeroom neat and tidy
• Use a pick ticket to read bin locations and pick parts
• Operate a fork truck to load and unload various trucks and semis
• Use a computer and various websites/software to book shipments via UPS, LTL, or hot shot
• Use a computer for data entry tasks in Motorbase to ship, receive, and log parts movements
• Audit inventory accuracy during receiving and shipment stocking.
• Notify the purchasing department when noticing inventory items that are needing reorder
• Complete all tasks and required paperwork in a timely manner
• Follow health and safety guidelines when handling parts and equipment
• Some purchasing of office supplies or common shop materials

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Attention to detail- ensuring that all areas are cleaned thoroughly, and nothing is overlooked.
• Time management- efficiently completing tasks within set time frames.
• Knowledge of various chemicals, paints, resins, and adhesives - understand how to use and store chemicals, paints, resins, and adhesives safely and effectively and maintain the SDSs.
• Organization- keep store room organized and manage tasks efficiently
• Communication skills- ability to interact professionally with other staff members and address any issues.
• Safety Awareness- knowledge of safety protocols to avoid accidents and handle hazardous materials correctly.
• Problem Solving- identify areas that need attention or where correction may be necessary.
• Dependability- being punctual and reliable.

Prolonged periods of walking and standing, bending, lifting, and other physically demanding tasks are required. With the ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
