Job summary

Polk Mechanical Company in Grand Prairie, TX is seeking a Warehouse Clerk to support construction projects by accurately handling materials, tools, and supplies and keeping inventory organized.

You will receive, inspect, record deliveries, issue and return items, maintain safety and PPE compliance, perform regular counts, and prepare orders for site teams while ensuring a clean, efficient work environment and basic administrative support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with warehouse/inventory systems is a plus.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

As a Warehouse Clerk, you'll be the backbone of our construction projects, expertly managing and tracking all materials, tools, and supplies. Your keen eye for organization and efficient handling ensures our teams have exactly what they need, precisely when they need it, keeping projects on schedule and under budget.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and accurately record all incoming deliveries of construction materials, tools, and equipment
• Organize and maintain all warehouse inventory in adherence to safety protocols and efficiency standards
• Ensure proper and secure storage of materials, tools, and equipment to prevent damage and minimize loss
• Manage issuance and return of construction tools and materials to site personnel and project teams
• Perform regular inventory counts and report discrepancies to management
• Prepare materials and equipment for outbound deliveries or pickups and coordinate logistics with site teams
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment
• Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment
• Provide support with basic administrative tasks

Education

• High School Diploma / GED

Experience

• Previous warehouse or construction materials handling experience preferred; 3 years forklift experience preferred

Certifications / Licenses

• Forklift Certification

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies

• Computer skills including Microsoft Office and inventory systems; Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; Ability to work independently and as part of a team; Ability to manage materials and inventory efficiently

Physical Requirements

• Physical ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods

Work Environment

• Warehouse environment with some outdoor exposure; May involve occasional travel to construction sites; Must wear appropriate safety gear (PPE) as required
