WAREHOUSE CLERK JOB DESCRIPTION
The Warehouse Clerk supports daily warehouse operations by receiving materials, picking and packing orders, preparing shipments, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
The goal of this position is to increase operational efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including unloading trucks, verifying incoming merchandise, and documenting discrepancies.
- Process requests and supply orders by locating, pulling, verifying, packing, labeling, and staging materials for shipment or delivery.
- Verify part numbers, quantities, and order information to help ensure accuracy.
- Sort and place materials or products on racks, shelves, pallets, or in designated bins according to established organizational standards.
- Receive, distribute, and record materials and inventory transactions using the company's computer or inventory-management system.
- Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and investigating inventory discrepancies.
- Safely load, unload, move, and secure materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, or other approved equipment.
- Inspect materials for visible damage and report damaged, missing, or incorrect items to the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment by keeping shelves, pallet areas, aisles, workstations, and loading areas free of hazards.
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, drivers, and other departments.
- Work cooperatively as part of a team to complete daily assignments and meet customer needs.
