Airgas in Columbia, TN is seeking a Warehouse/Backup CDL Driver to support safe loading, delivery, and handling of high‑pressure and cryogenic gas cylinders. The role emphasizes strict adherence to safety standards and DOT vehicle inspections.

The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule with 7 am start, home daily, and benefits eligibility after 30 days. Candidates should be physically able to lift up to 75 lbs and be willing to work outdoors in changing temperatures.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older.
• Class A CDL required; HazMat endorsement or obtainable within 60 days.
• Background and motor vehicle check required; DOT Clearinghouse verification.
• Ability to lift 25–75 lbs routinely; outdoors in varying temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload and deliver cylinder shipments on a scheduled route.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.

We are looking for an individual who takes pride in the safe loading, delivery, and handling of high‑pressure and cryogenic gas cylinders while maintaining a dedicated commitment to hazardous material safety standards and DOT vehicle inspections.

• Stock, label, pick, pack, and distribute materials and supplies.
• Physically receive, check, and store delivered materials in the warehouse; conduct regular inventory checks.
• Enforce policies for proper receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, reviewing invoices.
• Operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment.
• Strictly observe safety rules and adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Deliver compressed gas cylinders and liquid cylinders on a scheduled route to customers.
• Load and unload trucks, retrieve empty cylinders, and return them for refilling.
• Maintain accurate vehicle documentation and a professional appearance.

Required Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Class A CDL
• Must have HAZMAT endorsement or be able to obtain the endorsement within 60 days of being hired.
• Successful completion of Airgas Background and Motor Vehicle Check.
• DOT Clearinghouse verification from previous employers is required.
• Ability to routinely lift 25 – 75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 100 lbs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in changing temperatures.
• Ability to maintain a drug‑free workplace.
• Adherence to safety regulations and policies.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Forklift Experience
• Touch freight delivery experience
