DHL is seeking a Warehouse Cargo Handler/Driver at JFK International Airport in Jamaica, NY. The role covers warehouse operations, loading, unloading, and data entry to support efficient cargo handling.

Responsibilities include weighing shipments, assembling pallets, using a handheld scanner, and driving a forklift. A CDL, Hazmat endorsement, and 1 year of related experience are preferred, with a flexible shift including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Transport shipments to and from receiving and staging areas.
• Sort and place shipments on racks according to destination.
• Load/unload vehicles and palletize goods.
• Enter data into the WMS using desktop and handheld scanner.
• Prepare shipments with proper labels and bills of lading.
• Record weights and measurements of shipments.
• Operate forklift and other warehouse equipment as needed.

Job description

Job Title: Driver/Warehouse Cargo Handler
Job Location: JFK International Airport / Jamaica, NY

We have an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Cargo Handler/Driver who will be responsible for warehouse operational activities while providing the highest possible service to the market customer base.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transports shipments and materials to and from receiving area, staging area, or other area as designated
• Sorts and places shipments and or materials on racks, shelves, or designated areas according to destination
• Build up and maximize airline containers and pallets; load / unload vehicles, vans, straight trucks and tractor trailers
• Enter data information into freight station inventory and warehouse management system using desktop computer and handheld scanner
• Performs pick and pack assembly on shipments as needed and assembles shipments from storage area to prepare for export; marks and labels shipments with identifying information; prepares bills of lading as needed
• Takes weight and measurement of each shipment received, and prepares on-hand notice
• Drives forklift to transport shipments within warehouse and in and out of trucks; operates other warehouse equipment such as pallet jack and hand truck as needed

Skills / Requirements:

• CDL Class A or B
• Hazmat endorsement strongly preferred but not required
• Must be flexible to work assigned shift which may include nights & weekends
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Minimum 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations including Forklift operations as well as other materials handling equipment

Pay Range: $26.00/hr. in accordance with the CBA
