Job description

Major Responsibilities

• Ensure product safety and quality across all duties.
• Promote a safe working environment by adhering to Silgan safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain teamwork by assisting with housekeeping, organizing, packing, transporting corrugated, erecting corrugated, and forklift operations for production, shipping, and receiving.
• Unitize finished‑good cartons by lot number, ensuring no mixed cases.
• Operate carton make‑up area, load materials into carton erectors, assign correct cartons to production lines, and conduct housekeeping.
• Operate stretch wrappers to cover finished‑good products.
• Operate forklift or clamp trucks to wrap and put away finished goods and drive forklift with Silgan‑provided license.
• Use RF scanner to produce, transfer, inquire, and scan between hold finished goods.
• Inspect work areas for unsafe acts or conditions and take appropriate action.
• Communicate verbal and written effectively; maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and procedures and assist with additional duties as assigned.

Education

High School diploma or GED equivalent. Knowledge of automated or computerized system operation, safety practices and record keeping, forklift operation and basic computer programs.

Special Requirements

• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment with attention to detail.
• Pass written testing requirements in numeric, visual, verbal, conceptual, space visualization, and work orientation categories.
• Lifting capacity: up to 40 pounds continuously throughout the shift, with continuous lifting, bending, reaching, and twisting.
