Job summary

Alliance Ground International in Chicago is seeking a Warehouse Builder to assemble cargo for export flights, following SOPs and prioritizing shipments while maximizing space.

Candidates should be able to lift 50-70 lbs, operate a forklift, work in a fast-paced environment, and pass background checks for airport SIDA/C customs seals.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license.
• High School Diploma or GED; 1 year of experience preferred.
• Must meet airport SIDA badge and Customs Seal requirements, including background check and 10-year work history.
• Must be able to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

• Follow standard operating procedures and shipment priorities to build cargo for export flights.
• Forklift experience and ability to work in tight areas with other activity around warehouse.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and ensure all shipments are properly built for aircraft specifications while maximizing cargo space without damage.
• Assist with tie-down and push out of completed air pallets.
• Organize warehouse areas: reposition cargo, restock materials, nets, skids, shrink wrap, and locks.
• Maintain cargo security and report any incidents; ensure cargo has not been tampered with.
• Keep work area clean and report damaged equipment.

Job Description:

The work of a Warehouse Builder includes butisnot limited to:

• Follow standard operating procedures and shipment priorities to build cargo for export flights.
• Forklift experience and ability to work in tight areas with other activity around warehouse.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and ensure all shipments are properly built for aircraft specifications while maximizing cargo space without damage.
• Assist with tie-down and push out of completed air pallets.
• Organization of warehouse areas: reposition cargo, repacking nets, restocking plastic, skids, shrink wrap, and locks.
• Maintain security of the cargo and company's equipment. Observe that cargo has not been tampered with or that pilferage has taken place. Report incidents to supervisor as needed.
• Maintain work area in clean condition, reporting damaged or broken equipment as needed

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities

• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail oriented, strong analytical skills, ability to detect inconsistencies in data, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to handle stress in a fast-paced environment and ensure deadlines are met.
• Ability to concentrate on detail and multitask.
• Ability to lift 50-70 lbs.
• Other duties as assigned

Schedule of Hours

As an airline services provider, Alliance Ground International requires its employees to be able to work flexible schedules which may be adjusted to meet operational demands such as flight delays, cancellations, etc., Strict adherence to company attendance policies are expected and enforced.

Pay: $23/hr
