Qualifications

  • Must pass company drug screen and maintain attendance.
  • Knowledge of forklift operation or ability to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

  • Safely move materials using forklift and other equipment.

Job Description Summary

This Warehouse Associate is responsible for supporting day-to-day warehouse and yard operations to ensure efficient distribution, accurate inventory management, and proper handling/return of equipment. The Warehouse Associate will assist in loading/unloading trucks, maintaining inventory accuracy, and upholding cleanliness and organization in the warehouse and yard areas. This role involves operating loading equipment safely, delivering excellent customer service in a polite, friendly, and professional manner, and following safety, productivity, and quality standards set by the Warehouse Supervisor.

  • Selects items from stock, assembles jobs, and prepares shipments according to instructions and established procedures.
  • Validate contract reservations and pick lists for accuracy, including custom items.
  • Safely moves materials using equipment such as forklifts, hand trucks, dollies, or other mechanical warehouse tools in compliance with equipment operation standards.
  • Applies proper equipment loading techniques to prevent damage and facilitate efficient unloading at job sites.
  • Assists with the receipt and opening of shipping containers; verifies counts against driver loads and reports any discrepancies to the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Ensures equipment is returned according to company procedures and maintains accurate inventory records.
  • Follows truck loading quality standards and reports issues such as poor loading practices, damaged equipment, or other concerns to the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Works cooperatively with fellow team members to complete assigned tasks efficiently and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Helps maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and yard area.
Other Functions And Responsibilities
  • Performs minor repairs to equipment as needed.
  • Supports the maintenance of an organized shop by ensuring tools and unused parts are returned to proper locations.
  • Assists with inventory counts of merchandise and notifies the Supervisor of low stock levels or reorder needs.
  • Fills in for other positions as required to support smooth business operations.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures, rules, and regulations (written or verbal).
  • Complies with government safety requirements and other regulations; participates in department safety meetings.
  • Reports any safety violations or incidents to the Warehouse Supervisor promptly.
  • Supports opportunities for process improvements and waste reduction as directed.
  • Performs other duties as requested by the Warehouse Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Safety oriented
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Prior warehouse or manufacturing experience preferred but not required; willingness to learn is a must.
  • Proven ability to lift approximately 50 lbs. repeatedly and safely.
  • Strong mathematical skills to solve problems related to inventory, measurements, and loading calculations.
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance with a clean Mahaffey uniform.
  • Clear spoken English and legible writing skills for effective communication and documentation.
  • Must pass company drug screen and maintain an acceptable attendance record.
  • Full range of motion and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and provide instructions in written, oral, or scheduled form.
  • Ability to work well with others and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers and team members.
  • Knowledge of forklift and material handling equipment operation, with appropriate certification (or ability to obtain).

Base Pay Range: $18.99 - 26.11
