Job summary

Iron Mountain is seeking a hands-on Shipping/Receiving Clerk (Project Specialist) to join the Records Project team. You will move, track, and protect important historical government records, ensuring boxes are packed and transported securely under strict guidelines.

You will label items, verify accuracy against inventories, and operate warehouse equipment. The role requires physical stamina and compliance with security requirements, with an onsite schedule in the University District.

• US citizenship is required due to federal security rules and ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Move and stage records, safely pulling, moving, and stacking boxes up to 50 lbs at heights up to 15 ft.
• Label and track boxes with barcodes and RFID labels for electronic tracking.
• Pack and secure pallets, organize boxes on pallets, and ensure proper wrapping for shipping.
• Verify box numbers against pull lists to ensure accuracy before moving.
• Operate material handling gear such as hand trucks, wheeled carts, and pallet jacks in the warehouse.

Job Description

Iron Mountain is seeking a hands-on Shipping/Receiving Clerk (Project Specialist) to join our Records Project team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in moving and protecting important historical government records. Working as part of a team, you'll make sure every box is tracked, packed, and safely transported according to strict security guidelines.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

• Move and Stage Records: Safely pull, move, and stack record boxes weighing up to 50 lbs, including working off elevated platforms up to 15 feet high.
• Label and Track: Put barcode and RFID labels on boxes in exact locations so every file can be tracked electronically.
• Pack and Secure Pallets: Arrange boxes on pallets in proper order, protect the corners, and wrap them tightly in plastic for safe shipping.
• Check Inventory: Help check box numbers against pull lists to make sure everything matches before it is moved.
• Use Material Handling Gear: Safely move boxes around the warehouse using hand trucks, wheeled carts, and pallet jacks.

What You'll Bring (Skills & Qualifications)

• Experience working in a physical role, preferably in a warehouse, shipping/receiving, or material handling environment.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately match long numbers and letters on labels and lists.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs continuously throughout an 8-hour shift, and comfort working at heights using secure platforms or mobile lifts.
• US citizenship required due to federal security rules.
• Must be willing and able to undergo fingerprinting and pass a federal background check.

What We Offer (Benefits)

• Salary details: Starting at $25.00
• Shift: Monday - Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm hours
• Onsite location: University District
• Eligible for SCA Pay of up to an additional $5.92/Hour if benefits are declined

Reasonably expected salary range: $43,900.00 - $54,900.00

Please note that an employee's starting salary may vary based on a variety of factors. Where State, Municipal, Provincial, Territorial or other legal minimum wages exceed the federal minimum wage, employees are entitled to the higher rate.
