Job summary

Silgan Specialty Packaging is seeking a warehouse associate to lift, move, and store materials, and to manage shipping/receiving workflows. You will use ERP and barcoding systems to verify inventory and process basic paperwork.

This role requires adherence to safety and food safety policies in a dynamic warehouse environment. Responsibilities include operating lift trucks, staging shipments, wrapping products, and coordinating with other departments.

Qualifications

• Education and experience required to perform duties.
• Ability to read and comprehend safety rules and work instructions.
• Ability to write simple information on department forms for accountability.
• Mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply using whole numbers.
• Ability to apply commonsense instructions and identify problems.

Responsibilities

• Operate lift trucks to move and store materials and finished goods.
• Perform preventive maintenance and daily inspections of equipment.
• Pull and stage daily shipments accurately.
• Prepare products for transport by banding and stretch wrapping.
• Load and unload trucks and inspect trailers.
• Receive raw materials in ERP with necessary inspections and verifications.
• Transport materials and finished goods within warehouse locations.
• Maintain accurate inventory using ERP and barcoding system.
• Deliver supplies to other departments as needed.
• Record cycle counts and perform routine inventory checks.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly warehouse.
• Report equipment and facility damage to supervisor.
• Follow QFSMS policies and procedures for food safety.
